I have to ask ....WTF were you all thinking trying to yank it up with that kind of force?! Between the 2 vehicles they had a chance of getting it up if they hadn’t done a 0-60MPH sprint 🤦🏻♂️
I don't get it. You pull fast once and it drops down. You do it twice and it goes down more. Why would you continue doing it the same way if it gets worse every time?
Actually .. if you don't go fast... You'll just be doing a whole lotta nothing... Except possibly putting yourself in danger of being pulled in.. These guys that are helping, are ice fishing guides- they didn't have to help this idiot that got himself in this predictament out... They did it out of just being nice.... They could have let the dumb son of a bitch figure it out for himself... But in northern Minnesota, people help people, and try even if there's a miniscule chance of the help, actually helping ... They knew as well the truck was a goner... But men will be men, and they weren't gonna give up until the bitter end. Asshole with the truck- probably from suburbia city moronville... Thanks for putting oil, and gas, and toxins into our lake. The fish appreciate it. ..
U have a big ass ice machine with a truck that truck was not gonna pull both those vehicles down in that ice it was common sense you don't keep doing the same thing 3 times in a row
Is that how they pull water skiers around there too? I've never seen anyone try to put that much slack in something and just gun it unless you were pulling down an old building.
+Rodbenders 2 I glad you separated yourself from that crowd of "useful idiots" and I'm totally surprised nobody was injured or killed during the Several Acts of stupidity on Display. Was thinking that the Truck's owner might be able to Sue in Court, but then thought again, the Judge would have Tears in his Eyes from laughing as he threw everybody out of the Court.
Not sure why a person would try to drive over a weakening pressure ridge. last March pigeon lake alberta I saw a guy walk and fall in someone else pulled him out before I got to him. shouldn't have yanked it. yes slings are the right tool or rope. because someone else with a big knife or machete could cut it to save the pulling truck's. should of gotten tight then pin it. chain up tires for traction place the track machine would of worked. how much did that coat the guy to pull it out? in Alberta they come out helicopter or something
I really cannot believe that you're still trying to use tow straps & chains to yank a stuck vehicle out. You NEED to use a KINETIC RECOVERY ROPE! it is designed for situations dxactly like the one in this video. Search "bubba rope" here on youtube.
Those guys pulling that truck out are obviously new to pulling any fucking thing out. Everyone knows slow and steady wins the race. I dont care how big your rope is .whenever you got 10k +lbs pulling on anything. With that much inertia one of 2 things will happen. You either snatch your the back of either truck off or you pop the logging chain or rope.
man.....that sucks big time, trying to yank it out at 4:00 is s.t.u.p.i.d., pull slowly....not fast! even if they pulled it up, likely damage the frame with the weight of the water and engine in the water.......but then again i was not there. Wost part is they have to get it out of there. I had a friend had this happen on a truck in Wisconsin and it cost him 35K to get it back out of the lake
Everyone should listen to Doug Hagen... Lol! Nice try fellas, quite the fight to try to save a perfect strangers truck.. Word of advice to tourists... STAY. ON THE PLOWED ROADS.. don't get so adventurous.... This lake is unforgiving to the too curious. Remember That. Respect That.
shouldn't have yanked at it like that...would a prolly worked better if someone got brave enought to hook a chain near the windows of somewhere in the front of the truck too
Personally i dont think downward force from pulling on the hitch would make any difference as it was the front end that was hung up. I don't think I'd be crawling under the back end of it to hook to the axle in case it goes through while someone is under it and takes them with it. I've winched hundreds of pickups out of ditches and hardly ever hooked onto the axle. Usually brake lines running along them. Brake lines were the least of that things worries though lol
That shit makes no sence to floor it u gonna pop everytime obviously no 1 has experience in towing or pulling anything crazy they could have gotten that truck out if they would have put tension on the line first than u slowly pull it out
That was so dumb the way they pulled the first try. So much force and speed so dumb. I'll be pissed paying someone to do such horrible job if it was mine.
This guys do not know how to rescue a truck First you anchor that truck to a big vehicle so that it does not keep on sliding After each attempt , if failed , needs re anchoring immediately Which was not done, after each after each attempt at pulling they left the truck slip And the pulling attempt, is never done as performed, you never run and end up whipping off the chain ... that is what you do if you were to want to snap the chain The pull starts slow. These people trying to rescue the truck indeed pushed it over
