Denali ultimate for me hands down! However waiting till GM gets caught up with the times and does a Panoramic sunroof than I am a buyer. Great video! Love the channel
I have owned Silverado's and currently a GMC Sierra Z71 and the GMC Sierra having more "bling" doesn't surprise me as they have always been known to have more chrome and other premium seats and things like in their interiors, great review.
My choice is the Sierra Denali ultimate cuz I love all the luxury touches I mean the high country does have a lot of luxury touches but I just rather preferred GMC over Chevy
Regarding preferring GMC over Chevy. For the fun of it, pull up a video on You Tube showing either a Chevy truck or a GMC truck production line. You will notice that the Chevy and the GMC trucks are produced on the same production line, with the only difference being that at the end of the production line, a Chevrolet tailgate is placed on some of the trucks and a GMC tailgate is placed on others. They are the exact same truck. It is just a simple click on You Tube to see that. Then ask yourself if the GMC tailgate is worth many thousands of dollars more than the Chevy. If it is worth it to you, go for it.
If you want a truck to haul hay, transport building materials, travel on dusty or muddy country roads, trailer your horse or your dump trailer and to carry along your doggy, it is obvious that you want the Chevy. If you want a truck to look more manly at the country club, feel like a very tall Cadillac, impress your city neighbors with your financial success, have no dog and never want to get dust or mud in the interior, get the Sierra. Not such a difficult decision. In short, if you want a truck, get the Chevy. If you just want a classy ride, do not need the truck as a truck and could not care less about the money, get the Sierra.
It’s still a shitty truck . All the engine problems AFM DOD plus the tranny. That’s why people bitch about the new ones and say 2006 and all the way back to the 350s are GMs best years
I have the Sierra and it hauls my hay and livestock just as well, I replaced the ranchos with dsc fox Coilovers and it is sweet off-road, I have a shell on and my two dogs love it back there! For sure can’t afford the typical idea of a country club, but shes got plenty of battle scars from hunting and fishing the backcountry. My neighbors in the city love it, but I do care about my money. Did I mention I have the Sierra? Lol.
I've owned both. The High Country was a 2018 (6.2L V8/ 8 speed trans) and the Sierra Denali Ultimate is a 2021 (6.2L V8/ 10 speed trans). Both were purchased brand new and both equipped with magnetic ride control. Hands down, Denali pulled off the win on that one. As far as fuel economy is concerned, the High Country's Active Fuel Management averaged 21.4 mpg (city) and 26.1 (hwy), even with about 80,000 miles. The newer Denali Ultimate with the new Dynamic Fuel Management only comes in at 18 mpg (city) and 21.2 (hwy). I test drove brand new F-150 Lariat and top of the line Dodge Ram 1500, and all things considered equally, the Denali took 1st place, with Dodge and Ford coming in that order. I watched you guys compare the Dodge Ram and Denali Ultimate video, and it seems you rated the Denali ride quality differently when compared to the second video comparing the High Country to the Denali. In your opinions, do you feel the ride quality has that much difference between the Dodge air ride suspension vs the Denali mag ride control? Asking for a friend.
Just today bought a GMC Sierra long bed, single cab. With discounts, It beat the silver ado by a few grand on otd price. Same sticker price. GMC is dealing today
GM should have put the airvents in the Chevy on driver's side exactly how they made it on the passenger's airvent on the far right, but instead they gave it a shiny touch screen look around the airvent, but the middle airvent is too plastic looking they should have put shiny chrome around it like they gave the GMC Denali it on their airvents, they look better and more luxurious with it. The new Denali canyon looks awesome in the interior in my opinion it looks higher luxurious class than the Sierra Denali because of the wood they put in it, it looks better than the Sierra Denalis dark wood
I just bought the 2024 Chevrolet High Country (silver grey metallic with black rims), but the salesman lied to me about the number of speakers. He said that there were 12 instead of the truth.
Before they even compare the two, imma tell you now that the pilot doesn’t even stand a chance. The palisade blows it out. The pilot is a giant CRV, which ultimately is the Civic on hormones. The palisade is damn near luxury that has features that you find on BMW X7
I'd prefer to see "ride quality" over bad city streets that have been patched for the last 20 yrs... back roads with bad areas etc...those roads you guys were on are considered smooth
To me it doesn't make much sense at this price level. There are a lot of people that can pay 40k but not 50k for a truck, but I'd wager there are far fewer people that can afford 75k but not afford 85k. At this price you might as well get the nicest one lol
I have a 23 high country, I think a more fair comparison would have been against the regular denali, they are more equally matched. Love the truck, have the jet black and umber seats which look great, my only real complaint about the truck is the stupid amount of reflective plastichrome gm puts in the interior. When the sun hits it right its blinding. Other than that only had some minor electronic gremlins that happen occasionally and the seats are much better than before the refresh. Great trucks.
A friend just bought an LTZ Silverado with the 3.0 LZ0 Diesel and they have become common on the High Country with that engine at many dealerships in the area.
For the exterior, authentically the GMC is the most appealing. Not 11k worth tho. The interior it's a mirror. Why has GM not given us a panoramic sunroof at these prices on a luxury truck.. I'd take the panoramic sunroof over the "massage seats" any day. Also the "baby duramax" is the way to go even over the 6.2 rocket that I have now. Side note: If you opt for the 2.7 gas turbo you may as well get a canyon or Colorado because I cringe at your longevity.
If you really want a truck, then you really should not want a "sun" roof. Cutting a big hole in the roof of a truck (or any vehicle) takes away a significant amount of structural rigidity. That is the last thing that you or General Motors or Ford or Ram want to do to a real truck, which is designed to haul stuff and to pull trailers loaded with stuff. Think about getting a Tahoe or the GMC equivalent with a sun roof. Same engine options, too.
I tought that the Denali would have the 6.2 Liter with the new active exhaust. 😡 the 5.3 sounds better than 3 liter but, the new 6.2 active exhaust sounds SO GREAT on cold start, I prefer the chevy beacause it dosen't look like a Ford, as a GM guy, I really hate the GMC Daytime light and headlight, they look like Ford's one so much.
Need to compare a regular Denali and a High Country. Noticeable difference is the dash and the location of the air vents. It makes a huge difference on a hot day when air is blowing on the back of your hand compared to in the cab.
I currently own the F150 Powerboost and recently got into a car accident. I’ve been thinking of trading it in for the Denali Ultimate 6.2L V8. After two different road test, I have decided to keep my F150 Powerboost because acceleration on the Denali, through my test, felt pretty heavy and picking up a lot slower than the F150 Powerboost. The ride is not a comfortable either. However, I really like the look of a Denali Ultimate. It looks nice, aggressive and handsome and interior is much more luxurious than the F150. These are the main reasons for me to switch to Denali. However, heavy acceleration is the deal breaker. Even my wife said it seemed heavy and picked up slower than the F150 Powerboost during her test drive.
GM trucks make a great case for themselves, especially with the LZO diesel. I really think the Sierra may be the best styled in the class. The price delta would've been more close had the Silverado had the $2500 upcharge for the 6.2, as well as the power steps and a few other missing options.
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee Understood, but that 3.0 Duramax is a different animal when it comes to efficiency and fuel mileage. Still, EVs are a train we can't stop but I'm not ready to board it just now, eventually, perhaps.

Just bought the Ultimate , I’ve had 4 Tundra’s before this. Last one TRD Pro was stolen 2022 and had multiple recalls. I am so happy with the Ultimate Edition so far but only 300 klm so far I’ll give you an update soon. The price was steep 96K Canadian before tax. Would love to see a full sun roof after having it in the Tundra
My only problem,I have with the GM trucks is that they both lack a panoramic roof! They too lazy to go with a bigger roof don’t justify the insane prices! Thats why Ford and Ram will get my money
My choice would be the GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate. Nicer looking truck inside and outside. The wheels are hideous. The are nicer on the regular Sierra Denali.

How long before those overpriced work truck fall down to earth?. 80k for a truck is ridiculous. Going from point A to point B has never being a priority over food and shelter.
They want us to pay monthly for it. A way to take our money while keeping us poor. Tricking us into thinking materialistic items would make us happier and give us a good status.
That, of course, is because the Honda Ridgeline is an everyday driver. It is not a real truck. But, you are absolutely correct that an $80,000,00 vehicle is not really a truck either.
