Distance is all that matters.

The turbo sucks air into the engine by having a turbine in the exhaust flow which is the blake smoke. If you are talking about the white smoke under some tractors, i think it is part of the cooling process, maybe instead of a radiator with a closed cycle they just let the coolant evaporate, which would be much more efficient, but also consume a lot more coolant. If you are talking about the white smoke when their engines blows up, then maybe it's the turbo.

A lot of times it is the turbocharger "tube" coming off. The engine shuts down real quick but no real harm.

Yes a few pulls on the weekends versus 100s of millions of vehicles on the road. This must be the problem.

Most of these are running filled blocks no coolant.
