I drive interstate myself and I can tell the viewers here that you are doing a lot of effort to make this amazing content despite the busy routine. As you asked for suggestions, I suggest maybe you can show us some drone footages of the truck stops and other beautiful places where you can park safely.
I agree, drone shots make a video 10 times better, but I'm sure he is pushed for time, he wouldn't even get any rest on his rest breaks. Speaking of that, about the logbooks, are they bringing in e-logs in Australia or maybe it's already here? Here is a drone shot to check out, nothing to do with trucking however ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HRt5gp9C_Uc.html
Good on you, mate. I live in Chiltern, Vic, just south of Wodonga. We can se you guys from our back veeandah about 3k away lit up like Christmas trees at night. You may know of the homeless Truckie, drives B-double refrigerated like you, but for Lindsay's. He's pretty good at youtube, been doing it for a while. Cheers
Great vid mate. Lovin how honest you are and no BS. Keep them like that and your channel will go a long way. Stay safe out there brother and I will be watching you on Friday night.
Mate, when you are doing these vids, keep one hand properly on the wheel, that way you'll not get into strife with the law eh, besides if you ran over a block or something, the wheel will spin in the days before power steering you hadda keep both hand on, push with one hand pull with the other
Awesome content mate. Class 4 (HR) driver in NZ, Making the move over to Brisbane soon and keen to get my MC license. Cheers for giving us a look into your trucking life bud.
@@crossfamilytrucking hey brother is driving truck easy ? Plus if I get my license I don’t know where to start from brother do you think you can help me out please😢?
Thanks for the vids bro. I live in nz now but I used to drive for Americold right next door to your yard. We drove through your yard everyday to load our dry stock. Seeing you drive along Lytton rd onto the gateway and down the coast bought back good memories for me 😂 safe trucking brother
@@crossfamilytrucking one question I would love to know is what is the number one message you would pass on to non trucker motorists in regards to safety or top 3 things not to do around trucks !
The detour was in fact following the top of the escapement along south till you picked up Picton Rd going west back to the Hume as you said. You actually didn't go down into Wollongong, close thou. Where you turn left in Appin was great choice. Straight ahead on Wilton Rd ends in pain. Boughton Pass, hairpin bends into and out of tight bridge crossing the Cataract River. Not B double route. Great insights. Good stuff.
Gees mate you don't want the guy from Bonehead Truckers(Yank shit) to see you with Flipflops on. "Real Truckers don't wear flipflops" so he says. He don wanna come to Aussieland then cos "Real Truckers wear real Thongs." 🤣 Thanks for your work mate. The Ole Fella.
Excellent video mate. Was always my ambition as a teenager growing up in WA to be an interstate truck driver, after watching the semis coming down Greenmount Hill into Perth........it never eventuated, I joined the Navy instead - did 20 odd years and then ended up in IT!! Retired now, but your vidoes shows me what I could have looked forward to. Definately not all rainbows and lolllipops, but certainly some good times if you enjoy your own company. Many thanks for posting!
Another great video. I cut my teeth over 30 years ago as a 19 year old carting coal between Oakdale and Wollongong (Port Kembla). 4 loads a day -12 hours a day - 6 days a week. That was when we ran through Picton and Wilton townships. Certainly a different time in road transport. No computers in trucks, no GPS and no dash cams. It was like an episode of the wacky races every day. Not too many cars could keep up with us on the windy stuff.......
Andrew, real cowboy days! (trucks were not speed limted back then!) If you survived that time without a big incident - hats off to you! 4 loads a day was a big ask for a driver to do safely back then. The good thing is NSW improved those roads - as shown in this video.
@@robertkeast5676 - 4 was the norm with a 290 Cummins so no big deal. I’ve done 5 a couple of times of you flew under the radar as a front runner and tacked on the back of the tail enders….
Greetings from America.Wow, that's very cool. I love checking out trucking from different countries. Over here in America, it's right close to the same thing that you do over there. Matter fact, some of it is the same stuff other than our trucks are different here. I drive the American classic peterbilt 389. Have safe travels, my friend and stay in between the lines.😎👍💯
Lovin the vids mate, I’m a rigid driver in Melbourne but would love to drive a big rig! Your story is awesome and good luck with your ambitions. Keep safe bro!
Nice videos mate. I’m not a truckie but respect the work you do. From your view we can see how normal car drivers can be a problem. Stay safe, you have a family that cars and loves you.
Sorry another question, how do you manage expectation/etas at the other end when your have to divert for two hours? Does it make you two hours late effectively?
Nah with those particular trailers they weren’t booked for delivery until the following day and even if we do show up late usually the office can re book the trailers for a later time slot
Great work m8 and great content, Recently moved to Rockyview QLD but my home town was Tahmoor NSW which is not fair from picton. RIP TO THE LADY AND YOUNG CHILD IN THE ACCIDENT
Yet another great vlog Mate. Keep em coming cos we fallas love watching it. Got me brother in Fiji hooked up with your vids. A bit advertising for Coles too😂. Good on ya Mate.
Great vids mate. I use a rag for the fuel when it rains & a brush for the dash just like you. I drive a concrete truck in western Sydney, a lot of big industrial sites out here being built, very dusty, especially when I'm in reverse & the engine fan kicks in, dust everywhere !!!
Another great vlog, like I'm in the driver's seat. Be really interesting to hear your stories of how you got started, and memorable happenings along the way.
I'm enjoying you vlogs. You provide an honest down to earth prespective - maybe even inviting new drivers with your initial experience! I can't believe Australia can't have a more automated infastructure that manages the paperwork the truck drivers have to fill in every day.
Loving the content mate. Thank you for sharing! The little details are interesting for people like me who are entertaining the idea of long-haul driving as a change of career. I have a mc license but haven’t used it for work. I drive medium rigid trucks most weeks but I’m not employed as a truck driver lol.
hay mate my dad and his fam are truck drivers and have u ever stopped at the bp at Albury its so good ! can u do it in a vid its closed at the moment but it opens in like 3 weeks plus love the content
I’ve been watching your vlogs since they first came out. Watch a few of the truck driving vlogs and yours is definitely one of if not the best. You have a real talent for this mate, I hope you keep it up and look forward to seeing how far you go. Cheers
That is the crash where the woman done a illegal u turn on the highway and ended up straight in front of the truck, killing herself and her kids in the car, so brutal the car's engine went flying heaps far down the road.
Mate steer with two hands on the wheel. At one stage you are flicking the wheel left and right. Guys that do that on hot days are the ones getting blow-outs.. when you have both hands off the wheel your truck steers straight anyway.
I hate having to go down roads youve never driven on.. massive sweaty palm moment.. I drive a 30m "A-double" road train tanker and dont want to snooker myself by going the wrong way, they are not as easy to reverse as a b-double as you know.
Thanks for the excellent video. Can you make them a little longer as I,m enjoying the beautiful scenery of Australia. You drive a truly beautiful rig . Cape Town South Africa.
Wow South Africa 🇿🇦 thanks for watching mateI’m very limited to how long I can make videos at the moment because I edit and upload them all on my iPhone hopefully I’ll be able to get a Mac book soon 👍
Shiit. I'm an excavator operator of 5 years in sydney, but I've seriously been considering truck driving.. Got any social media or something where we can talk more directly, like an insta or something mate? Love your videos, just found them !
@@crossfamilytrucking I’ve got my HR, unrestricted Will probably got sit my MC and see if I can find a weekend gig or someone to get training driving a bit more confidently Only 25yo, love operating but starting to get a bit bored of civil / earthmoving I’d love to see a pro’s cons of long hauls and perks with auto/manual transmissions etc Awesome content but mate!
Arr the old window electricks in a K200, i remember going down the Hawksbury when the passager side window decided to go down in the middle of the night, enough to put the fear of god into a man,LOL.
What do you do if you take a wrong turn and it’s like almost impossible to turn around? Or there is an accident or something like that and traffic is diverting by doing a u- turn? Are you stuck and is the company pissed off?
Great video, really enjoyed watching it. Lucky you turned left at Appin, the road straight ahead to Wilton across Broughtons Pass is certainly not B Double friendly. I used to use it with a 3 axle rigid years ago but these days there is a length limit on it. There are a couple of tight hairpin bends that would have caused you all sorts of pain. Keep up the good work, you make an old truckie miss his time on the road.
Have my MR and used to drive tourist vehicles between Casino (near Lismore) and the GC; work at a local servo now but also occasionally drive the local cab……would love to look into upgrading and doing something else as have always felt at home on the road…..these videos just make the itch stronger and something. I’ll definitely be chatting with the wife about so thank you for the content and please keep it up 😊
Good video mate. Keep them coming. I have absolutely no idea about trucks so I find this interesting. How long do you “warm” the truck up for from a cold start
You should be able to talk about the log books RU-vidrs should be able to advise you on the statements. You need to say something like it’s entertainment value only or check the doctor health channel’s for the wording. Or just say in your case only name the state and country. I can see you going world wide. Also educational for the people that drive light weight cars. Mention things like turning circles etc. Non truckers do not get you are basically driving something like a ship or building on wheel. Big heavy and not a sports car. That can stop on a dim. Really is something for everyone with your videos especially the people that like travelling great scenery etc. Credit to your wife she must edit doubtful you have any spare time. Tough job being a interstate trucker
Why don't Watson's have yardies that can take trailers to places like Hilton Foods and get them loaded before you start? That way you can just hook up and bugger off from your yard?
I'm So Happy That I Found An Awesome Trucking Vlog Channel 😃😍. Bro Stay Safe 😃. You Drive For A Good Trucking Company 😃. DON WATSON'S TRANSPORT Should Get SCANIA'S 😍. The Fatal Accident Was On The News. It's So Sad That The Mother & Daughter Died 😭. That's Why People Should Really Wake Up & Realise That's Why Buses,Trucks,Trains,Ect Are Called HEAVY VEHICLES For A Reason. My Wife Does The Same For Me. Makes My Lunches,Dinners For Work 😃
hi from the uk sorry but i burst out laffing when ou said thongs and showed your feet here and in all off europe thongs are what women wear as underwear , also we pull 44 ton on six axles ,, keep safe m8
Loving the videos man definitely a good insight and motivation to get up and get back on the road and work towards getting my license, videos are great always good to have the camera on keeps the eyes open to have something to talk about on the road keep up the vids
I stay off it as much as I can mate otherwise it’s too easy to get into arguments lol my wife said the same thing that I should get some radio chat in the videos but that would mean leaving the camera rolling constantly I just don’t have the space on the sd cards 👍
Great video, good to see someone who looks after their truck so well. Do you drive the same prime mover all the time, or just any one they give you on the day ?
