Drivers, remember this, DONT HIT THE BRAKES when your steer tire gives up! I been there and I knew I shouldn’t, but I still hit the brakes. Instant lane change! Pray this doesn’t happen to you in a corner.

What should you do hit the Jake brake and let the truck gradually slow down ?

Like it never happened brother, glad it wasn't too bad. Ole boy did a great job on the bumper. I blew a steer tire on my 359 pete at about 80 mph. Lost the fender completely, ripped the hood up, and lost the headlight. But as long as you're alright, everything else can be fixed. Love the content brother, stay safe out there!💪🍻

Had a blow out with my First Steer tire about a year ago going about 65 I was empty T800 Dump truck it is a experience you won't forget what made me angry more was nobody would let me over to the shoulder from the middle lane luckily no damage to the hood just little damage to riding the rim a few hundred yards

Been there , done that . Going North on I75 south of Tampa Florida in the afternoon. Running about 75 mph blew the brand new left front . The cap wrapped around the axle Taking out the brake air lines. I went from the right lane into the median. Me standing up from the seat hard on the brakes hanging on to the Steering wheel for dear life. I was in a old GMC 7 car auto transporter, luckily empty or it would have ended on it's side.

I hit a ramp that's used to load a motorcycle onto a pickup truck in a 2-lane construction zone with a jersey wall on my right and a 4-wheeler on my left! It bounced off the wall and took out my right steer, and all my outside tires on my right side! 5 tires all at once! Plus, the mud flaps! I was fully loaded! It scared the shit out of me Bro.! This happened about 12:00am, It was a miracle I did not roll over! I lost 3hrs. You were lucky, you did not damage too much. Be safe out their Bro. Happy Trails! God Bless!

Glad to see you’re all good just less a few dollars cheers brother drive safe

You're lucky with that I blew a big steering tire on a dump truck pulling a front end loader on a flat trailer at about 60 miles an hour I had to ride it out until all the tire was gone off the rim it was almost half a mile I couldn't slow down every time I tried to slow down the trailer started swaying really bad I thought it was going to tip over and I had to stand on the go pedal it took the whole Fender off bent the bumper rip the lines off the air conditioning the oil bath cap was missing beat the steps up on the fuel tank⛽️🇺🇸

You done very well friend. Luck left me hanging the day I blew a steer tire!! Right front like urs...was in a brand new (when it happened) 2005 day cab Peterbilt with a Mac dump trailer behind me with 125,000lbs of coal in the box, on I-64 running about 65mph then BOOM!!! Rolled 3 times...destroyed the truck and trailer...broke 3 of my ribs, fractured my collar bone, and bruised and beat up all over!! To cap it off it was my last load on a Friday and was gonna get 2 new steers over the weekend. That was the first set of steer tires wore out on the truck lol that's how new the truck was....

The hand of God was on your shoulder and kept you safe. I had a steer tire blow out on the right side. I did everything you did except. I pulled down on the trailer hard valve and kept my foot on the go pedal . It slowed me down and lifted weight off the steer axle. Have you thought about just painting your fenders.? Maybe a different color ? I really like what you have done to your truck since you got is. It is a sharp 800 !

Yep, my brother is a truck driver for past 34 years and a couple of years ago had a very nasty experience like this driver had. He was hauling a 70000 lb. load of beer and was on a country road during daytime, when his right steer tire blew at highway speed. Unfortunately for him his Semi leaned immediately to the right and and went into a steep ditch next to the road and rolled over. His lost his phone with the crash and had to walk to the nearest farm house to call for help. He sustained back and neck injuries and he never fully recovered from that accident. Ps, The only difference is that his Semi had airbags on the rear diffs, but not on the front axle as shown in this video.
