When I started in the early 80s there wasn't CDLs. Drop and hooks were rare in groceries. NO ONE WAS ALOUD ON THE DOCKS WITHOUT STEEL TOED BOOTS. In a lot of cases you would load and unload. In the least you would count the product. If one was being a bone head an old hand would set you straight. CBs were used properly for hunting bears ( speed limits were 55). Since I retired I only miss the smell of diesel in the morning. I don't miss all the bone head sh*t that grew worse over time.

That’s true. I always drive and walk around the truckstop with my crocs on it. Hopefully no one ever stopped me and harassed me because I’m using my my truck my feet my cracks. She definitely don’t have the right to do that and that can be dangerous for her for sure, and to be honest, as long as you don’t show up with the client wearing flip-flops. I’m OK with that. That’s people doing a much worse things out there.

True story: shaan truck drivers backed into me at a rest stop and didn't even stop when I blew my horn had to chase them down in bad weather and called the cops on him they pulled him over and got arrested for a hit and run. He said he didn't speak any English and he had his headphones on when he got pulled out of his truck ( probably why he didnt hear the horn)

I was driving for Gra Bell out of Holland, MI. Well parked in a spot at a truckstop overnight and in bunk sleeping. I woke up when truck started shaking, jump out of bunk and see the reason. A JB Hunt had backed into my drivers side, he backed into me 3 times before I got him to stop. So take down truck number and we both go in to call our companies. I talk to safety and told them what happened and was told it was a no fault on my part. All good right? WRONG! I went to another company and found out Gra Bell put that on my DAC as driver at fault.

Never cared what other drivers thought. I was away from home to make money not be in a fashion show. Wore my boots when loading and unloading, to keep OSHA happy. The rest of the time it was totaly about personal comfort. The only time it was an issue was in the mid 70"s, some small southern truckstops didn't consider tank tops and flip flops to be shirt and shoes.

It also looks like too many people go the wrong way hence the cones and the wrong way sign. In Massachusetts, Danvers, I was directed through a residential area and took out cable line. It happens, perfect drivers dont exist.

Working at Amazon factory one night & the trucker tried to deliver to the front doors instead of the unloading /loading docks & then he got stuck 🤦‍♀️🙄😂

The Bankhead tunnel is Mobile, Al. It is 12 feet only. Me personally I am calling a lot to my State Rep. to impose penalties. I personally feel, pass the sign 25 points and $5000 to the driver and to the owner. If you strike the tunnel then it should be 50 points and $25,000 to the driver and to the owner of the truck. NON REDUCIBLE by the judge. AND, AND and a doubles clause. I drove for over 30 years and all I see is stupid any moer so no cry babies PLEASE ! Play stupid and pay stupid. You don't have too worry if you don't do it. Besides 5 signs going west and 7 signs and a 140 DB alarm going east. By the way the biggest culprit was werner with a dollar general trailer over the years. KEEP IT UP IKE, I LOVE IT.

I ask my wife all the time, "When did flipflops become everyday attire," I've seen flipflops and crocks on people running weed whackers and chain saws, on lawn care businesses.

I'm retired now and I never wore flip flops at work. Did 4 years for a moving company and 30 years for the local Ice manufacturing Company in Seattle Washington and my last year was for CR England. Sometimes I wear flip flops at home.
