Just a heads up. When you close the valve on the tank side (not your tanker side), crack open the bauer clip so that your tank sucks up the shite in the hose, then you can open the one at your end and you won't get covered. Source: I do this work.

Working as an apprentice mechanic one of my jobs was to empty the oil drainer into a tank, put the hose into the oil storage tank and put the air line on the oil drainer it's safe to say I learnt why you should always put the chain over the pipe to hold it down. Turned around to see the pipe shoot up and start going in circles spraying oil all over the freshly painted walls and me 😂. Lesson learned

Tanker driver here down in Newark, been covered in trade waste because I forgot to shut the outlet valve and took the end cap off 😂 🤦‍♂️ you got away with that dead lucky! 😂

I used to haul the open skips from sewerage works and lost count the amount of times there were "small accidents"😳🤭. It was hilarious when you pulled up at a set of lights and everybody could smell it😂😂😂😂😂. The new trailer looks great and hope it earns you plenty of cash👍

Worst that's happened to me. I was hauling 3 pallets of cases of 1.5 ltr bottles of smirnoff. Got back to storage cellars opened sliding door half a pallet on the floor and a swimming pool of vodka 😂😂😂

Done that job for a couple of years and yes I have been covered and the building next to me it went everywhere

I got absolutely covered in meg when I first done tank work, blew a load into a tank & forgot to vent the pipe before disconnecting it. Also, if you're sucking through a 3" open the valve gently, and under no circumstances straddle the pipe, it bloody hurts when the pipe kicks upwards and catches you square in the plums...

Little tip for you Sandy, when you're uncoupling the Baur connection, keep your spare hand over the gap, so if anything spurts out, it'll hit your glove, and go down, rather than splashing you!!

Get your self a one piece water proof over all and a face shield if your going to do more of it. And leave them outside the cab.

Many years ago I was the manager of a student union in Edinburgh. One morning the cleaner came and found me in a state of distress. She pointed to her cupboard which had a huge mop sink inside it, there in the sink was the largest perfect shaped shit I had ever seen. The previous nights disco had resulted in the deposit, as the boss I had to remove it! Thought the story was apt considering your tanker full of it! lol

Dad was a tanker driver most of his working life, mostly a stainless but they had vacuum’s as well. Sure there would be a few “coverage” stories to tell

Used to do waste water mate .. I had a 4" bauer coupling blow off on me at the water works.. I just emptied a 90yr old ladies cess pit an hour before .. I was covered head to foot in pish and god knows what !! LOL!

When i worked on a farm, i was told to empty the bosses septic tank with the slurry tanker. Was spreading the contents on a field when a stone jammed the outlet, i was so busy on the phone that i forgot to shut the valve when i went to unjam it, and i think you can guess the rest lol

When I was an apprentice I had the job of relining 1 of billy bowies tank with a brake disc that exploded and was loaded with shit. My mentor kept on getting me with pranks so I opened the inspection glass valve and got it down the back of his neck 😂

Smart move Sandy! The more you learn, the more versatile you are. Which then means the more options you have if the regular work is a bit slower. You won't be the first one to have "the load" go everywhere except where you want it. I've seen it a few times when I still lived in the Netherlands. A lot of the liquid livestock outpourings are transported by lorry between storages (from livestock farm to arable farm) there so plenty opportunity for smelly, messy mishaps. I've worked with livestock all my life so I've been splattered/sprayed by or slipped/fallen in every, and I mean EVERY, body fluid at some point and always because I was dumb enough to stand that wee bit too close. That was only a wee dribble you had there 😉😂

Did that job for enviro seen a few folk get covered not back sucking the pipe. Adds some flavour to your lunch. Lucky scottish water didnt phone up about no hard hat. They good at that.

I was out with my mate one Saturday got to a site got everything ready to go filled the tank up wasn’t looking and got sewage all over the place the site foreman wasn’t best pleased but luckily enough they had a road sweeper on site

Some drive down to Campbeltown, windy wee road. Was behind one of their trailers earlier, no upper marker light or brake light on the passenger side. Least it wasn't a Hino

Was given a new curtain side trailer went to my first drop and caught most of the buckles on the gate and ripped a 20ft pice out the side .. it was a day old .. trailer is now five years old and you can still see the repair lol no six monthly bonus that year.

I picked up a toilet block portakabin up from a site down south, got told it has been emptied. Got to a roundabout and someone came flying round a roundabout made me slam on turns out the hadn’t emptied it and had turds all over my suzi lines and catwalk

I was slurry spreading fields and got a bloackage at 11 o ‘clock and went back to sort it and forgot to shut the flap unclogged it and got covered spread the rest of the field in my boxers 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♂️✌️

Been covered in caustic soda when on tankers after a customers tank wasn't connected to a bund area instead the over flow had a 3" pipe sticking straight up with a rain stopper pressure pushed the caustic out like a fountain and I was covered never ran as fast as I did that day to the shower

When I was on the milk tanker on weekends sometimes the trailers didn't get a clean so they had about 100lt left in them I forgot and opened the valve and got covered in milk and it was my first tip in summer so by the time I got home I stinking of gone off milk

Cleaning portaloos one day I threw the hose over a fence walked around to empty portaloos to find my suction hose in a river and I had filled the tank with shit and river water over 100 miles from the disposal tank boss wasn't impressed 😂, I have had hoses come apart and portaloo liquid is blue so I was standing in the yard 5 ft 11 inch 22 stone smurf ,I delivered plant without keys ,I arrived back in the yard with bits of walls in the trailer 😂christ I could type forever 😂😂😂😂

Got covered in leachate from a landfill when the hose burst,🤬 that stuff is hard to get rid of the smell from it, wouldn't of minded if it was a Friday, but it was Monday and in the middle,of a hot summer

I am a tree surgeon. Working in a city, the whole time I was there I could smell rotten meat even 20ft up a tree. Using a pole pruner to do the last bit, I put the poles down to have a look at the tree I was reducing. Went to pick up the pole to see a dead rat right next to the end of the poles. This thing had Magots, ribs shown, guts ripped open and smell so bad. I thought that I was lucky I didn't put the poles in there, only to realise the reason the guts were ripped open was because they are now in the end of my pole pruner which I just put my hand on with no gloves on 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮
