Here is my honest review of True Classic Tees. You can find their website at trueclassictees... Please subscribe and follow me on all of my social media / steve.raines.photography / hadtogetfit / steverainesphotography .
Inconsistent sizes in the same pack and shrinkage. Thank you so much for this review, you saved me time and money. I appreciate this detailed, awesome review.
I actually work in the apparel industry. Shrinkage is a normal characteristic of fabric. However, most manufacturers pre-shrink the whole roll of fabric before cutting it into patterns. If the shirt shrinks excessively then it means they cut costs by not pre-shrinking and that also allows them to make MORE shirts because the fabric hasn't shrunken yet.
I agree. The issues outlined turn me off as well. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a brand that can offer consistency so that two shirts of the same size but different colors fit even roughly the same. So disappointing.
I was about to order my husband some of these tees and decided to come on RU-vid for real reviews. Thanks for sharing your experience and showing us how they fit.
I'm glad someone took the time to review these shirts.. AND ACTUALLY TURN ON THE COMMENTS.. if you go to the actual commercial comments are TURNED OFF .. that's not a good sign..with stupid ass commercials like there's it's probably for good reason..
Yep they don't leave the comments on for a reason! I'm so pissed I wasted money on these t shirts. They are so cheaply made. One was unraveling and had a seam actually coming loose by the end of the day on the first wear. Hadn't even been washed yet!😭
I was thinking about getting for my guy, he is 6'5", but shrinking is a no go. Wish clothimg companies would spend ten cents of water to prewash material!! I'll gladly pay the extra to know it won't shrink! Thanks so very much for thorough review!!
Thanks for the unbiased review. My husband wouldn't be happy if I spent the $$ on these shirts so you saved me a headache. But you did a great job, because you seem like a normal genuine guy so I trust your review. Thanks again.
@@Prxsumo Hey whats up Juice. At this point, after I've had these for several months, I feel it would be cheaper to hit Walmart and pick up some George T-shirts. They both last about the same, same material, but the George brand is between 5-7 bucks cheaper. Plus you're not paying shipping. Only thing i really like more is the way the TCT fit around my arms. But with prices these days, I'll be a Walmart shopper for awhile. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for an honest review. I'm always on the lookout for quality cotton tees for my husband and myself. Variable sizes, inconsistent quality, shrinkage, it makes them useless. When I find the right quality, I buy my preferred tees off season when they're on sale.
You mentioned you were 5'10 225. When I plugged that into the site it says you should buy XXL. However you said you ordered XL. I can see why it would fit shorter and tighter if you were suppose to buy the next size up.
At the time, I was working out and losing weight. I like my shirts a little tighter than XXL. But yes, I agree, the larger size would've been a better fit. But even the XXL that they sent me were still inconsistent.
I have bought 2 of them. I have no complaints. They feel nice and fit well for me. The size was a little inconsistent between the two. Like they both fit but one was a little bigger around the sleeves. After washing they both fit the same. But I am 5’10” 178 lbs and wear a medium.
Best fitting shirts for fat dad bods are the Eddie Bauer shirts at Sam’s. I bought about 75 shirts all different colors. They’re like $8 I think. Try it and you’ll be back to clear the shelf.
They shrink way more than advertised. Don’t wash on warm/hot and don’t put them in the dryer. Also I tried the long versions to see if that would help but they are crazy long, for 6’6” giants :) Other than that the fit is good, just can’t wash them normally
Thank you for doing a real review with a REAL dad body. I was looking to get these for my husband. Glad I found you before I did. We will stick to Hanes..lol. Can’t believe they charge so much for these. 😅
Thanks for showing the difference in sizes. It’s interesting how the green XXL fit way different from the darker XXL shirts. I wish I would have watched this before I ordered my shirts today!
What T-shirt are you wearing in the video (the Walmart shirt)? Your build looks a lot like mine and I’ve been trying to find a shirt that looks okay. That shirt looks great!
I like your Wal-Mart shirt better. Thanks for the video, I also took note of inconsistent sizing. Saw another video from a smaller guy and he had no problems. Now I have to check out some more videos, but I'm really taking your comments into consideration
The customer service probably depends on who helps you. I had a terribly experience, they were slow with response, and they pretty much told me that it was my fault that the threading came loose
It's always a gamble when ordering clothes. I'm interested in these but I personally would rather try on 1st. I love T shirts but very picky on how they fit. Thank you for the review.
Oh damn!! Small world friend!! Your product review popped up for True Classic since I'm looking at buying some for my hubby. Thanks for a great review!! My hubby is 6'1 and 240 and he wears 2XL . His major problem is short length with a longer torso. And shirts shrinking or being inconsistent is not good. I have received a 20% promo and a bundle price discount so I'll give these a try. As long as customer service doesn't give me a hard time about returning if these don't work out.
I was going to just say what's already been said.. The Walmart tee looked the best on you. I'm 49.. Don't have a huge belly, but I'm also not in my 20's anymore. I just want a tee that hugs my chest and arms but gives some room in the belly... And soft/comfortable. I just tried fresh clean tees brand and I think I've found what I was looking for. Appreciate the review.. Man when you find a nice fit Tshirt it's just awesome.. Be nice to find that same shirt and size and fit in every color every time
I made the mistake of ordering a bunch of TC stuff after an original gift of them seemed ok. One wash and they’re all too short. Borderline 80’s workout crop top. I may order one in a Tall size just to see if the good body fit can join forces with being long enough to withstand normal drying on low. Pity, because they have so many styles that are just perfect for someone looking to load up on interchangeable staples.
Ty for this review! I was gonna buy my husband some and he's same height and weight. Although his weight is dispersed a little different and is more in legs, hips and butt and then just thicker in the mid section. But he will definitely not be happy if he raises his arms and his stomach shows. So ty! You helped me make my mind up!
Thanks for this review. I’m skinny fat (got some belly building at my age now) and shirts fit great up top but tight in the mid section. Was about to buy from true, until I saw this review.
Great & Helpful review I was in instagram and saw the Ad so I hopped on their website and bought a 3 pack of the crew tees and 3 pack of the long sleeves I’m anxious to see how they will fit but after watching your review I’m certain I made the right purchase as to sizing I as well used the sizing calculator hope they workout in the long run. Thanks again for the review👍🏽
I did the opposite of what you did, I went from 2xl to xl because the 2xl felt like I was wearing a potato sack. I usually wear xl but the company website recommended 2x. After going to xl I am still unsure about them, they don’t fit as well around the belly as some other shirts that are much cheaper do.
Bought a 6 pack. Got it yesterday. Opened on shirt and the collar was loose but the rest of the shirt was tight. Like EXTREMELY tight around the stomach area to the point there's no way I would ever even wear it. Sending them back. It's just so disappointing for two reasons. #1 because they put hundreds of ads in my videos and web searches saying how great they fit #2 because I actually fell for that bullshit
It has no box design, You bought a size too big, and you might want the athletic variant as its tighter. I recently bought them and was very happy with the fit if you want something that is more tight buy a size smaller. at 5 10 for tight you may want a medium or even a small make sure to use the fit calculator on their sight
Your may be new but you were informative and honest. I was gonna order the grey but with shipping and tax in Canada it's Aprox $50 delivered. I have found other Ts to fit different color to color too. Thanks. Looking forward to your next vid
So i saw the add and than clicked on ur video. Thank you for taking the time to do the review. Im 6’0, and 250 (wanting to lose weight, but i need clothes right now) saw ur review, u n I have similar builds, i might get a bigger soze thanks
Thanks for the review...almost wasted $60 with this company but my husband would have the same issues as you did. Poor consistency on the 3 shirts you bought a total deal breaker. Will stick to Target or Walmart here!
Try the “longline curved hem crew t-shirt” from hollister.. They are on sale for $10 right now.. Definitely worth a try. I always go a size up at hollister and American eagle. My husband is 6’1 250lbs.. I ordered the true classics but now I’m nervous, but at least I can get my money back!
Sounds like scam company to me. Inconsistent fit. Thanks for your help and review. Saved me some money. Thank you. I also hate the inconsistent prices and having to pay more for a color I actually want .
What brand is the Walmart T-Shirt you have on this video? I had the same issue when I bought a True Classic T-shirt. I ordered online. I didn’t like the way it fit me so I returned it, I got charged $5.00 to return it. You’re better off buying the soft washed T-shirts at Old Navy.
I'm 6'/220 and got a XL crew and a XL polo to try. The XL crew seems ok, but the XL polo was too snug for my liking out of the package. I returned it for a 2XL in transit. We'll see. I think these are probably ok, but I'd prefer a decent grade of 100% cotton. My experience lately is that poly/cotton blends all eventually pill. At this point, I've had just as good of luck with t-shirt "blanks" from Next Level and Bella + Canvas. I'm holding out to see how the polo fits, since I have a harder time finding polos that fit the way I want: wide enough in the shoulders, length not too long, sleeves not too long, not baggy but with some room around the abdomen. I think True Classic are good, but still not some miracle that's going to hide flaws or magically make you look ripped.
Update: The 2XL polo fits very well and looks good on me. I haven't worn the polo or the T all that much, but I have a sense these will start to pill. I'm just not crazy about the fabric - and I "baby" my clothes, most washed inside out on gentle, and hang to dry. I've just not had any poly/cotton blends lately that performed well over time, irrespective of cost. (Uniqlo was ok for awhile, then started to deteriorate.)
For the price they're charging, I'd want more consistency of fit, so I really appreciate your providing this review. I'm curious: What are you holding onto in your right hand, and why...?
Honest review, love it, getting my "True Classic Tee's" in a couple days, and will see if I like them. I am Also 5'10" 210lbs. I Also purchased the "Into the AM" logo shirts from Amazon. Got them yesterday and Love them, fit is perfect. They seem to be a re-brand yet I like the logo and the fit and feel. Thanks for the honest review Steve!
