Marty’s older daughter Aubrey is 16 in 2002, meaning in 1995 she was 9. The younger daughter is in 8th grade in 2002 thus maybe 14, two years younger would fit.

I just saw a comment say that because of Rust's beer drinking, his entire interview was invalid. Because the cops went and bought it for him, and then let him get impaired during the interview. So technically they could never use it against him.

I've been watching lot of true crime lately and it's surprising how much this type of sh** actually happens in real life. I'm talking about the kids being found chained in rooms like that -- it's quite often by the parents (who probably just wanted a baby for the welfare $$s. Sick.).

What does that word mean though? (I often pause it when they show documents like that to look for clues in the names of minor characters. Good shows tend to have fun with the details.)

@n2521 Childress was the name of the sheriff that took one of the missing girl cases and covered it up and the old woman Rust interviewed said the guy with scars on his face was also named Childress. So basically the guard is part of the family covering it all up.

Hey yall if yall haven't reacted to/seen these already these would be good action movies to react to. The Northman, Braveheart, 13th warrior, The Last Samurai, Troy, and Platoon. That last one is more of a drama I guess but that shit gets crazy.

FUCK YES. As a professional comedian telling a long rambling story is only worth doing if the punchline has been salt and peppered with things you are invested in. I think this is one of the best episodes HBO has ever made. “Time is a flat circle” is a thing I think about monthly. This is the exact reaction I had the first viewing, every moment pops with intrigue. Marty and wrath are a big motif in this show and Rust is literally the punisher. It’s so fun to see the story set up cards just to change them on you. Also if you want a real conspiracy theory that this show may be alluding to is a man by the name of “Danny Williams Clinton” alleged son Bill Clinton and a black hooker in Arkansas. Have fun falling down the rabbit hole this show and facts are 🙃😂

In my opinion, this first season of True Detective up until Ep. 6 was near-flawless television. Perfectly filmed, perfectly set designed, perfectly located, perfectly acted(even the bit character parts, in particular my favorite bit character performances were by the actor Christopher Berry who played two roles, the father in the mobile home, and also the guy in the interrogation room when Rust breaks him(if you haven't gotten there don't worry, it isn't a spoiler, which brings me to my overall thoughts on Season 1. I adored it all the way up until I utterly despised it. I hated how it concluded, but I'll save you the trouble of ruining your enjoyment of the series, thus far. I will be curious if y'all feel similar once y'all make it to the final two episodes, the penultimate, and the finale. #XoXo!
