It would be interesting to see a sequel now. Maybe Eliza Dushku (daughter) is a spy now, trying to hide it from her kids. Arnold and Jamie Lee either being retired or top ranks, i.e., her boss. ... Or, preferably, another idea that is much better than the one I shot off the top of my head.
@Billinois78
@Billinois78 2 года назад
Following up on my previous comment, I was reading some trivia on the movie and I don't think she (Dushku) would want any part of a True Lies project. She said she, age 12 at the time, was molested by the stunt coordinator and that when an adult friend confronted him about it, he caused her to have an injury on a stunt. Broken ribs. So, the chances of her returning to the role after the trauma is almost zero.

He came home from work one day and found his wife and packed up everything in the house except for a bar of girly soap in the bathroom shaped like a rose. This movie was the *perfect* action-comedy, with a star who was a confirmed action superstar, but could pull-off comedic lines smoothly, a co-star (Tom Arnold) who had excellent 'chops' in the comedy genre, but was such a good actor that he could pull-off some action stuff, with a major supporting actress (Jamie Lee Curtis) who's another one with seriously good acting credentials, who manages to be believable when delivering hilarious comedy lines! And all the other supporting roles had actors who proved to be more than merely capable, but also we're *excellent* at playing *their* roles! The writing took full advantage of all this talent, with Cameron doing his usual *superb* job at directing! So glad you did this! Happy to see that you enjoyed it so much! When you do _"Last Action Hero"_ you'll see that Schwarzenegger really is just, plain and simple, an *excellent* actor! If Hollywood didn't have a 'thing' against the Action-Comedy genre in general (& Schwarzenegger in particular) he'd have a *bunch* of Oscar awards! Heck, _"End Of Days"_ proves he can do an excellent job with serious dramatic roles! Either of those last two - _"Last Action Hero"_ *or* _"End Of Days"_ - would be *great* to react to! _"End Of Days"_ is a little creepy in parts; it was made in 1999, when there was a fair amount of talk about Millennium/End-of-the-World stuff going on. This was one of a few different movies of 'Satan-coming-to-Earth' kind of story-lines. The movie itself was just 'good' (I give it 7.5-to-8 out of 10), but Arnold was really *very* good with his role! I'd love to watch you do them! *Enjoy!*

True Lies is a great combo of action/comedy/romance. It is hard to balance 3 different type of movies together, because you have to make sure that each portion is important to both the story and the characters. And yet, the talent ON screen to combine these elements was perfectly cast to tailor each role. Arnold's history of action movies helps sell it, Tom's history as a comedian/writer helps sell it, and Jamie Lee's history of being the romantic interests in so many roles helps sell it. Keeping the other cast members more or less "grounded" as serious roles, helps elevate the portion you want to highlight by the actor on screen. It also helped that the cast had a LONG history of working with Cameron either on screen or in a personal way. So they all trusted Cameron's vision as well as "story telling" director ability. There was a HUGE amount of trust with the cast to "go along" with a scene or concept to know that it might not make sense "now", but will make sense "later". So, actors were able to "go outside of comfort zones" because of the trust, and knew that it would come together to make a great movie in the end. And it shows, because this has become one of the most recommended films to view once you step outside of Arnold's "action hero" stereotypes. (Well, True Lies and Kindergarten Cop tend to be the 2 most recommended films after his Terminator/Commando/Predator type roles.)

Just a few points of interest. In the first Terminator, when Arnold (The Terminator) kills the three punks in the beginning, the one who says, “I think this guy is a couple kegs short of a six pack.”, is the car salesman in this film. When you watch the classic film, Psycho, the stunningly beautiful woman in the beginning of the film is Jamie Lee Curtis’s (Helen) mom in real life. And when you watch the cult classic rocumentary , This is Spinal Tap - which just confirmed to be doing a sequel - the lead guitarist (Nigel Tufnel) is Jamie Lee’s husband.

Great reaction, I'm glad you enjoyed it! You ought to check out Commando, it's another Arnie action movie with tongue-in-cheek humor. Kindergarten Cop's good too.

Great reaction to a well done movie that had all the action and unexpected fun comedy and was well written. Great supporting cast as well with Tom Arnold, and even a young Eliza Dushku, as Dana their daughter who went on to tv fame in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and even Bill Paxton (the "spy who peed himself") who was Hudson in the Aliens movie you reacted to not too long ago... just a great and fun movie!

4:59 It's a defining trait of _every_ good thriller that the protagonist has to have at least a _slightly_ antagonistic relationship with the authorities. In the event that they _are_ authorities, this is going to put them at odds with their immediate superiors.

Its always fun seeing younger people see Jamie Lee Curtis for the first time in this movie. Her character is so frumpy, but prior to this she was known as "The Body," because she just had the absolute perfect figure. The moment she strips off and people realise this isn't some frumpy housewife is always fun to watch.

This is a really great movie with both comedy and action. Your reactions were so fun, love your laugh. The bridge they blew up with the jets was the old Key West bridge in Florida. It is where you said it was so beautiful. I have been there a few times and it is truly a beautiful area with very clear waters. Thanks for the super fun video.

Great Reaction video Dasha! True Lies has always been one of my Favorites! Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold and Bill Paxton make the movie serious and yet funny at the same time! Although, Jamie Lee Curtis in this movie and Trading Places (looking hot) adds that touch of Spice!
