I personally realized this after a 5 year old relationship that the only way i could love this person unconditionally was to let them go and be free because being with them was making me miserable because i was unable to live my life to the fullest without(rules, attachments, expectations ect...) i was resisting the natural flow of creation by holding onto something that is no longer on the same frequency as i am. The more we held onto each other, the less we loved ourselves so this way was the only truly way we could love ourselves fully again thus each other unconditionally, eternally, rather than conditionally and in misery and suffering. Sometimes the people we fall in love with are there to teach us a very important lesson about ourselves to prepare us for someone or something greater and to help us mature to rise in love within ourselves and free our spirits from mental/emotional slavery. Because the real happiness is not to be found outside it is inside, it is the realization of our own completion, but the realization of this completion can only occur when we realize the only incomplete thing is the lack of information about oneself and the many dimension and layers of oneself, because our aim is always to outside, then how can it be that thy attain information about the inner being when whole your life your busy with everything and anything except yourself. It is good to give to others, but better it is to give to oneself. Because in realization you will not be a slave of others neither will happiness depends on others for now it will be depended on yourself and the ability and skills one attain in this process can in this order help others and this is the only right order. Feed yourself first and strengthen yourself so you can fight your own battles with ease before you go out and fight other people battles. Going out and fight battles for others and then to return home and be exhausted to fight your own battles is abusive towards oneself, but this is the greatest illusion man has made for himself thinking he know what love is and in its search for it he fails miserably, for he thinks if i do this for them they shall love me and by following this path one becomes a slave for others. When one is self loved he does not feel the need to need love but to give it freely without anything in return only by this experience you know you have attained true self love. Those who give to others only to expect to receive back and sometimes cover this up in layers so it doesn't look as bad to their own analyse are fooling not only themselves but also others in the process. One simply cannot have a good and healthy relationship with others if one is not able to have good relationship with oneself.

@@ToYourHealthAndMine i have been that low actually. it was so bad that after school I missed 5 years. i just got back in but that's only because of hope and trust in Allah and His prophet when Allah says that after hardship comes ease and His prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him saying that whatever was meant to befall you will always befall you and whatever misses you was never meant to reach you. i have felt sadness and still do but i have hope in Allah (God) who is true because imagine a ship navigating itself without anyone controlling it? You can't right? So how can you imagine the entire universe in its most excellent magnificence controlling itself?

I agree but as a Christian myself i would like to point out that Christianity isn’t a religion. It is a way of life which involves following in the footsteps of Jesus. If anyone is looking for the true meaning of love, Jesus said :”Love thy neighbour as thyself”. This quote alone puts everything into perspective if you truly understand what Jesus is trying to say.
