Hello. Awesome results. Congrats! The polishing phase sounds a little awkward to me though, especially with small parts. Have you tried using polishing felt discs and a Dremel ? I use it to polish the canopies. They are very handy and you can also control the rpm and the discs come in different sizes and thicknesses. Thanks. Alex

Has anyone noticed how nice it smells. I wish I could afford to paint my entire house interior with AK True Metal, but at effectively $3400.00 per gallon, I’ll pass.

This is strange. I see you thin the True Metal with white spirits. I see you brush it on. And I see you rub very hard. And you get great results. I think it with white spirits. I brush it on. I wait an hour. Then when I try to polish it, the stuff rubs right off. What am I doing wrong?

Hey! I have a couple of questions! - if you plan to use more than one color on the same surface (eg one dark and one light metallic), do you polish them at the end of the wax application or between the layers? - can the polish be done the next day or should it be done 30min after the last coat? - how the product would react if you plan to use acrylic or oil/enamel washes. I like the way it looks but it looks a bit too clean for my taste

These wax-based metallic paints seem very interesting. Does anyone know how they work in terms of shading? Do these paints mix well with other acrylic paints, (e.g. Citadel, Scale 75, etc). What about inks, washes, and glazes? What is the best method for sealing something painted with these paints? I wouldn't imagine I could use an acrylic sealer as those are water-based. Thanks to all who are able to provide further insight into using the AK Interactive True Metal paints.

Is conductor or insulator? I want to paint the insufrog rails because i hate the dark color and want to be close as Nickel silver rails.

Hello, thanks for your comment. Eventhough we don’t know surely if those paints are conductors, if you use for rails with engines or carriages in movement over that rails, paint will disappear due to friction.

I am beginner about model painting, recently I saw a review on RU-vid and bought 4 different color true metal product. But because all the review on the RU-vid or by your company itself didn't mention detail how to apply effectively on the model. All the product review we can find on internet are done by the pro model scaler, my advice for new beginners are before applying/using ak true metal must do the sanding on the model so the result will be must better.

The effect of the polishing is weak, almost imperceptive. This is because you are not showing any objects near the finish so we can determine how sharp the reflection of an object is. When the Q-Tip was neat the sword blade in silver, then it was apparent that the polishing did have a remarkable effect. It would be good to see a comparison of reflections of Real Metal against gold leaf, so that we can determine how they compare to each other.

AK Interactive Official I used the Copper one on a model. Primed the model with black Plastikote, left it for a day, then diluted the Copper colour with white spirit, applied with a brush, left it for 2 days. While polishing with sponge the color started coming off revealing the black primer underneath. What did I do wrong?

You should use the true metal without dilution only with the brush or a clothe, and then polish hit. This way, you'll get a perfect finish. Dilution is mainly if you are going to use the wax in airbrush. Anyway, this is a wax paint based, and the time to totally dry is more than usually paints. We hope that this way, you would get your ideal finishing :)

@@AKInteractiveOfficial lol, the guy in the video says to dilute it, but now your saying the person who had an issue with it did it wrong because he used the white spirits you suggested using in the video. at time slot 1:58 is exactly when the guy doing the demo dips his brush into the spirts then into the paint and onto the model. the writing even says and ill quote your words written on the video screen "let's start dip the brush in White Spirit and take a little of the true metal wax...". so don't make a video telling the customer to do it one way when your telling us to do it a completely other way.

Can't see any difference on the half polished middle one, maybe the light is too bright, all I can see is bits of sponge falling off.

Greetings! I have a couple of questions regarding your AK True Metal paint range. The most important one is: can I use gloss varnishes to cover the paint layers and will it affect the paint's properties? Also, are there any recomendations on undercoats and varnishes to use with True Metal paints, so it wouldn't come off?

Being wax based can I use other paints on top to apply patinas or glazes to tint the final result? I love the idea of true metal paints, I'd just like a little more depth.

If you use acrylic base for weathering you won't have any problem and if you use enamel ones, is recommendable to varnish with a coat of acrylic varnish to don’t remove the base.
