So glad I came across this video. I kept getting E -2 error. I finally realized what I was doing wrong. I kept dropping my blood on top of the testing strip instead of placing my blood against the edge of the strip. I didn’t realize that the strip would automatically suck up (soak up ) the necessary amount of blood. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thank you for sharing this video. I tried 3times because I was getting an E- 2 error message. Now I understand how the blood goes on the test strip correctly.
Thank you for this great video. You showed us how to use it as opposed to other videos who just talked and did not show!! I poked my fingers many times till I found this GREAT ONE.
It took me several hours on how to use the clear plastic things and where to put the lancet in. Finally it's working ok. For me I get much less pain, and larger blood drop when testing just above my knee.
Omg thank you for this tutorial! The instructions that came with the monitor were so complex and overwhelming and I was about to give up. You're a lifesaver.
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just got my monitor and was getting confused with reading so many different instructions. Saved me a big headache 👍🏼🙂
I used this video to get through my first time trying to use the kit. It sure helped, but I wish there was more info on how to adjust the 1-5settings. I think 1 is the strongest, now that I've played with it some. Thank you so much for preparing and providing this video.
This is very helpful. I have a sister in law who has to wait several months to test if she is diabetic. I’m buying her this $20 meter as a beginners device for her to check her levels just for peace of mind. I’m sure her doctor will recommend a more high tech monitor if she is diabetic. I did check on the prices for the test strips and they are $74 for 100 ct. That just seems crazy!! Almost a dollar per strip after tax. And I don’t know how much the lancets are yet but holy smokes.
Husband diabetic, had heart attack, stroke, pacemaker,,, it's been 8 months and we can't figure this device,,, also getting E2 and E3 on display, he's angry at this point, when it displays level is always an old reading done at doctor's office.. I'm at the point of saying "fuck this" and then dump it in the trash, but it isn't my device, so I keep on trying. 🙄
Eye doctor I just want to say thank you for the video very informative 75% blind so it's hard for me to read literature specially some of it being in very small print that being said I have an issue with my meter I put the test strip in and it doesn't power up and when I finally got it to power up it said E3 can you tell me what I'm doing wrong
Awesome. I still got my test strip inserted the wrong way round on try 1. But remembering this is supposed to be idiot proof, I looked for what stupid thing I could have been wrong. After 5 attempts to draw blood I finally got a reading. Libre 3 (+26 hours since applying) = 53 True Metrix Finger Stick = 141. No. I have not been hypoglycemic for the last 8 hours. Time to make a call to Abbott.
ALT indicates it is in alternative site testing mode. To change that, insert a strip and press the left arrow button on the top of the meter. The "ALT" should no longer show on the screen and the meter is regular finger tip testing mode.
Nice, I use FreeStyle libre with Nightrider, it help me to continuous track the glucose on the phone. They are a game changer, save me having to do multiple finger pricks everyday.
I figured out how to do it when you prick from the side let the blood glide into the strip the blood should not be all over the strip it’s suppose to slide ryt in the line that’s it so prick from the side it let it glide ito the the tiny line I hope this helped it took me about 8 times to get this good luck on your journey
I have been using true result for a long time then I purchased a true metrix so I did test on both machines on same finger just to see if I will get same results but I was surprised the true result gave me 168 then in true metrix it gave me 24 ..I just don't know how did that happened? I would assume at least the difference would be closer but that's way far..what do you think did I do wrong ? I took it at the same time..
Is there a certain way to dispose of used lancets and test strips? It just feels wrong to me throwing in normal trash. I feel like I should have one of the red containers like at the doctors office.
Thank You!!!! I just got one..Needed to know how to use it...207 was mine... The man that's trying to build-up my credit score from Indianapolis...💯🇺🇲🤙
How do I set this meter, I got a new battery but I need to know how to set it! Please go slow because I have had 3 Strokes and my comprehension has gotten a little inpaired thank you very much!
when loading the lancers...just dont install to deep in the holder set at 5 it will prick your finger perfectly however forcing it deep into the holder will prevent how much of the needle is provided once triggered
thanks for the video. I've jut got mine after my A1C was high and the doc wnats me to test my blood for 3 months. How to set it up with the phone? what application to use? thanks
I got the E-2 error message 3 times out of 5 tests and I follow the instructions to a T. Which really sucks when they only give you 10 lancets & 10 test strips. Even with 0 errors it's not enough to do even a week's worth of testing (if you're doing it before and after every meal). This is my 2nd time trying to get on top of my diabetes and it's perplexing why they never give you the supplies you need to test like they want you to? Also, with this particular product there is so many small print instructions, some of which contradict each other, for example whether to use alcohol or not. This product also has a warning that you need all 3 levels of control solution to test if this device is working properly yet they only provide you with one.
Does this meter save your results each day? I can't find them. The app says to attach the cable to upload to your computer. Mine didn't come with a cable, nor the forearm adaptor, nor the control solution. Is the only way to save the results is to manually record them myself?
I miss the light from my other meter which my insurance refused to let me use. I can't use this in the dark if I want to check it in the night. I didn't show is what that dilution is for???
I tried compressing the tip of my finger with my thumb, as shown in the video. I didn't like that! I could definitely feel the stick. As a noobie, I have some advise of my own. After 2 weeks of this, I found that, using 30ga lancets, instead of the 28ga which come with the meter, placing the TrueDraw device on my finger with very slight pressure, and set to level 4, provides a good blood sample, with no discomfort at all.
questions about the recording. I'm doing 12 hours fast. I stop eating at 12am-12pm every day. Do I still write the number for before and after breakfast/ before and after lunch even though I'm fasting at that time? Do I do the test only once a day? First-time diabetic (non-insuline dependant) patient. thanks
Hi I recently had blood work done for a general health check and my glucose was 100 after 12-14 hours of fasting. I did have a medium chocolate milkshake the night before from McDonald's and I read that's 80 grams of sugar. I'm wondering if some of that sugar was still somehow left in my body giving that reading. So anyway I was thinking of getting this so I can check and save money going back to the lab. I don't have health insurance.
Same bro I checked my blood sugar after 8 hours ate two slices of cheesecake the night before I was at 105 . Did you find out if you had diabetes or something?
