I think there's easier fights for Henry. However he didn't just come back for a paycheck. He wants meaningful opponents that will get him a title shot. In reality the UFC give him a title shot after 3 years of being retired and he blew it.
Not only has Chael won every title, he also wrote every title too. He's fully entitled to say whatever he likes about titles because he even bought his own title 'Lord undefeated'
U guys are getting creative. I like it. Mine is the best tho. Chael saved the world by bringing UFC outta the dark ages. Without UFC, the world would still be in lockdown.
Merab was next to fight for the title. Cejudo pulled the smart/pro move and challenged him so he can be next up for the title if he wins. It’s the fastest way to the title for Henry.
I wish sterling would have stayed there, I was starting to respect him as champ. It's not really stacked with stars down there at 135. Bellator/PFL has a few 135 guys that could have been integrated in there. Unfortunately there stuck in the bellator/PFL creature.
It should headline a fight night card as a five-rounder. Both have heat with O'Malley. Sean should sit in the front row and the winner should call him out for a faceoff assuming that Sean successfully defends against Chito.
I think Tony Furgerson in Dagestan training with Kahbib and Islam is a story. That man if he never wins again is at least showing how far he's willing to go and it's interesting.
Does anyone know if DJ and Ben had fights on their contact when the ufc did the swap? What unhappy title holder or contender could we swap for DJ? I’d love to see Cejudo vs DJ again or even Merab vs DJ.
Chael, an idea you might like. What if Aljo had won against Sean, instead of handing back the belt because he is going up to 145, he gets on the mic and says, “As the GOAT of 135, I want to put my belt up for the number one and two contenders to fight for”. This would allow him to walk off as goat, continue to be the champion until those two walk into the cage, and potential permit a champ vs champ scenario. It’s never happened and would be great parody.
Your intuition on whether it actually happens may be correct, but I’d like to see Henry’s olympic caliber wrestling against Merab’s wresting. Wikipedia says they’re fighting at UFC 298, Feb. 17 (Toporia vs. Volk is the main event/5-rounder.) EDIT: you fooled me, Uncle Chael - this video is really about kicking Henry (and Merab) in the ass to start promoting the fight. Just like you did some years ago when you got Henry to stop with the early UFC choirboy persona he was exuding - and got him to start showing his real personality.
Henry better know if he lose against Merab He’s definitely done for he’s not getting another title shot That would be 2 losses back to back Nobody not taking that fight if he loses to Merab especially if he gets dominated
I don't think henry unanimous decisions merab with some dominant masterclass match. It's going to be a grind like that sterling fight. Where the rounds were so ambiguous that the perception from the tv audience to the judges to the two fighters will be way off. No one will be satisfied or that happy.
True, they are fighting .Henry retired and took 2 years off and fought Aljo for a title match. Henry doesn’t have a right to be picky. Merab is the perfect match.
If he can find a way to beat Merab then he can get his name back into the title convo, triple C has to go after big names at this point its boom or bust.
This man here eats t bones steaks lifts barbell plates and is sweeter than a German chocolate cake the women’s pet the men’s regret when they have a name for the greatest of time they don’t call you the goat they call you Chael sonnen
I’ve always appreciated Uncle Chanel’s insights, particularly his philosophy on the fight buisness and fight promotion. But for the life of me, why did I just watch a 4 and 1/2 minute video on a dude saying Merab and Cejudo are going to fight?
@@Robertk-tn plz €nlighten me on why you came to that conclusion am intrigued to know why you dropped that line dawg dont be scared back it up....am waiting!!
If Marlon vera gets a title shot coming off a loss then cejudo should be able to fight for the title even if he losses to merab. the funny thing is if it comes down to skills sandhagen could most likely beet Sean. I understand he's not popular but what are we doing here. ufc needs to stop protecting champions!
I like the match up because if Cejudo want to fight Merab, its a boss move by him. If he shuts down Merab then it’s back to the “ easy” title fight against Suga or Chito. Cejudo can beat either one of them easily. Merab is the real challenge. ABs would leave no one else after he grabs the belt. Would be able to defend it easily.
Merab vs cejudo if Henry doesn't get dominated is going into the hands of the judges. You then might have this winning or losing by the skin of your teeth thing, which doesn't give me confidence that henry can compete. It tells me that Henry is just still good enough to survive, but that's it.
Who cares, it's set for UFC 298 in Anaheim. Uncle Dana has told us this already and it is the Co-Main but that might change because Whittaker vs Costa might actually take that spot now
Their both top guys, but i believe its a boring fight with their particular styles going against each othet. Its gonna be a we could of done without that kind of fight it wont matter who wins or how many rounds cause it's a clinch fest decision. they needed better match making here
