Jim is the Oracle of the High Desert! I have never hit the ball so well and more importantly it has completely eliminated the back pain I was creating with a traditional swing. Just start small and work your way up to full swings and you will start to hit those crisp shot that the good guys hit. Trust him

When I read a comment like "I'm gonna try it when I play today...." or "I'm going to the range and see it it works , I want to puke. A swing change takes time and practice. Pros take months sometimes to ingrain one thing. I've played golf for sixty years and, in addition to the difficulty of the swing itself, one' body changes. It slows down and golf requires adjustment. I was a near scratch player in my twenties but I can't play with that right-side dominant swing anymore. This swing brought me back to the principle of left side control, something I have worked on from time to time but the closed stance and constant still weight on the left side is new. Putting my left side in control and learning how to properly subdue the right shoulder is gold. In college, I sometimes put all my weight on my left foot with short irons and hitting the ball very crisply. This swing replicates that in an easier way, letting the arms swing freely but containing the structure of the inside-out swing. I am working, not "trying" to learn how to use it in my game.

I think most people are like me- searching for an answer and they think this just may be it. But we don't know. For most of us it's just not practical to commit to such a big swing change until we see more to convince us that there will be a payday if we put in the time. Like I've said before- Jim, I want to believe but I need more from you before I can. I feel like you are deliberately not giving people like me what I need to then commit. It's not the cost I a worried about. It's investing time and changing muscle memory toward something that is ultimately a dead end. The biggest question is what power. You seem to swing as smooth as PGA pros but I know what there swing speed, ball speed and distances are. I don't know what your swing will produce.

Jim I find this swing very interesting and I have been trying it with much success. I love the simplicity of this swing! I need to practice more on my stillness but when I do I kill the ball effortlessly! Thanks so much for your videos and speaking in laymen's terms so its so easy to follow and understand.

Hello Jim just wanted to update you I played golf yesterday with 3 guys I did not know. We got to the second hole and it's a par 3 and when I hit the ball it had a tight draw right on the green 4 yards from the pin. The one gentleman said to me your swing looks so effortless. I told him I was working on your swing and having great success. Later in the round we were at a 190 yard par 3 with wind in our face and I hit a nice tight draw right on the green 2 yards from the pin. I told the group about your website and RU-vid videos. The more I practice the better I hit the ball and just as you say in the videos it fells effortless. I hope to join your academy so you can critic my set up and swing to get where I want to be with this swing. Thank you very much for your teaching videos they have been a blessing to my golf game.

I have just started golf at 63 years of age, found Jim's method about two weeks ago, it works! Staying still is the most important part of this method. I was at the driving range today and hit some fantastic shots with my irons, high and straight! Focused on staying still and just swung the club! Money!

Jim, I’ve been toggling between the single plane swing, an traditional weight transfer, shallow the club with that wrist movement you referenced and your approach. I spent the last several days at the range hitting entire buckets with each approach. BY FAR, my most enjoyable, successful (everything is more fun when you’re good :) and accurate time on the range was accomplished by using your approach. This is the simplest, most common sense approach I’ve experienced in 35 years of playing. I’m getting out on the course tomorrow to play a round. My goal is to take my 16 handicap to a 10 by early next year. I think I found the approach to get me there. Thanks for the good stuff Jim!

You won't regret it, Used his swing yesterday and had a few shots I have never hit before! I would recommend clubbing up one or 2 clubs until you get used to the swing. I lost about 10-20 yards in my irons, but think it was because I am not used to swinging with no effort in my hands.

Hi Jim, I used your swing yesterday on a very tough course here in AZ and I was super money on all my drives, my irons were accurate with a draw I haven't seen before! The power isn't there for me yet but I am assuming because I haven't learned to stop HITTING at the ball, but did have a few shots that went a mile without me trying. I am commited to your approach! My 6 year old son has club foot and is amazing at golf because he keeps his weight on his lead side foot. It all makes sense when you explain it so thanks for helping my game already!

Thanks for the new video Jim. I adopted your swing this past summer. Was doing quite well with it (playing to around an 8) until the colder weather in the northeast hit.. I have been on/off JVG swing a few years no : I have had my absolute best swings with this but also struggle much with finding the correct pivot and lean into the lead side. Today I tried this : set up normally, unlocked knees - then making to pivot/lean Only by straightening the trial leg/knee! This results automatically in the set up Jim advocates - Eureka! Played 9 holes today with this move for every shot making the round in 38 stroke - every one easy and crisp! (HCP 20,4) Thank you Jim for your JVG swing 👍

I'm entering week 3 of JVGA. Sticking with the Swing Path drill, Bump and Run, and short pitches as I am discovering stillness, or more accurately, how much movement I still have to eliminate. Progress is incremental, however, I'm discovering truths, as Jim describes them in this video and absorbing these as I stick with the progression. If you have struggled with the two pivot swing, immersing yourself in JVGA will lead you down a path of enlightenment. As I cut down on movement, my short swing contact is much crisper after two weeks. I'm discovering the left armed nature of the swing, and what heavy arms are, specifically that the right hand is basically just along for the ride. Yesterday, a man approached me in the clubhouse after I practiced. He had noted my contact, and the unusual closed positioning we JVGA students adopt. He noted he was battling a left to right ball flight. I pointed out that closing the body and shoulders, then swinging along that orientation forces inside out and a draw, which is what I was working on. He said something about how my contact was good and I was getting nice ball flight. He may just be a dabbler, uninterested in going further, but I told him who is teaching me. We shall see if he engages me again.

Hi Jim. Have to laugh when I see a variety of “conventional “ coaches discover the benefits of a front legged swing. Trail leg on toe and pulled right back closing their shoulders. Great surprise when they find clubhead speed rises and shots are sweeter and go further. So why does presetting to this position as you do in the setup, cause such negative comment. Just look at most of the pros esp TW in the downswing laft arm parallel position. He/they are on the left side with shoulders closed! No need to convince me anymore. Another thing to note is one of the S&T drills is to hit shots with weight forward and shoulders closed at least 20 degrees! You should see the soaring shots Mike Bennett hits from this position. Why would you want to do anything else!? Best from golfing without restrictions downunder! Rich

I tried your swing method today, partially successful; my question is ball position? 70% weight lead foot, closed stance everywhere on full shots? teed ball at front toe with the driver, hybrids? Irons 6-9? Wedges? I shot 86 today and usually in low 80’s. The reason trying your method is I been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, so have developed some balance issues. Your method could help me on getting off my back foot. My Chipping setup I did NOT change🤙🏻 Its very hard mentally not to put the ball back in my stance! Oh, by the way I have RA for many years. How did that work? I predict because Jim's swing obviously puts less pressure on the right knee, an although it puts more pressure on the left knee, the stability of the swing reduces the chances of injury versus a conventional swing.

Open your mind that there might be not only one but probably 15 different ways that I could describe for you how the club moves. I thoroughly explain how the club moves and it’s neither an arm swing or a shoulder swing. If you’d like to learn more kindly sign up for my school.

@@jimvenetosgolf That’s just bizarre! The most powerful contact at least for me is when I turn my shoulders and let the arms ride on my chest as per Ben Hogan…The problem with taking online classes, is what does one do while we send in a video and then wait for a response.. do we practice, do we not practice, do we play, do we not play. Our season is too short to wait 4 or 5 days for a response. I would love to take your course, but it would be in person. Online may work for others, but for me I need personal contact. I want instant feedback. Thanks for your input…

@@osXcanada I only teach high level competitive golfers in person because my online school and the one on one coaching you receive from me will cut your handicap in half at a minimum. If you want immediate feedback, I give virtual lessons which are just like in person lessons but at a fraction of the cost. When you describe you making hogans swing please remember your handicap and that you are a hobby golfer. I can assure and it has been proven that no hobby golfer can consistently make hogans swing. And no hobby golfer should be so certain about techniques until they’ve reached a consistent ability to perform the techniques.

Does this swing path not create a tendency for hooking the ball?

I experienced hooks (a lot!) at first (and still occasionally) using the JVGA method- but discovered it was because I was either overswinging or not keeping my shoulders closed until impact (or both!). I've found that learning/trusting the JVGA swing is actually pretty easy...but unlearning my old bad swing habits is the hard part. It's taken a lot of time, patience, perseverance- and hitting a lot of balls for my mind/body to forget bad swing habits...they keep trying to creep back in. The journey using Jim's swing has transformed my ball striking and confidence standing over the ball...trust him and yourself...it's worth it. My 2.5 cents anyways.

As long as the face isn't too closed. Clubface that's closed to path and open to target will make quite a nice push draw.

Actually, over the top is not the shortest distance to the ball since the clubhead re-routes off the takeaway plane and travels out away to a "higher plane" tilted to the left (or the right for lefties). Did you see the Pebble Beach video where first time players stick 7th green? The second guy knocks it stiff 2-3ft and it sure looks like he took lessons from you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BXjuVHhVYLI.html&ab_channel=LukeBluske

Watch a Tony Finau video - he doesn't turn his hips on the backswing. You could argue that he is copying the Jim Venetos model? And Tony hits the ball 300+ years.

To me, it looks like your sending everything way right? Is your tuition aimed towards older people? You could try using shot tracer so we can see just how far right everthing is going? Could you hit a ball to a target that is straight ahead square to the mat for us?
