Unbelievable day of fishing, I have no idea what the odds of that happening again are but its a day I won't soon forget. The first musky was caught on a yum swimmin dinger then the second on a booyah spinner. Somehow both fish were hooked perfectly in the corner of the mouth and were landed and released ok.

Truly a miracle that you got that fish in. People up north have to use a minimum of 30 pound test on those. With many going up to 50. Awesome catch John.

I remember my first musky, and oh man what a rush. Congrats on the catches! I also wanted to say it’s been amazing watching how humble you are. It’s not about big fish, it’s about enjoying the nature God has blessed us with. You make these cold days in Minnesota much more bearable. Thanks for the scripture after your videos. Hee hee hee hee hee! I truly call that beginner's luck, on that first Muskie. Then... came the second Musky. Man! I don't ever remember seeing anybody that's been fishing for Muskie have THAT kind of luck! They're lucky to catch one in a day's time. Then came the second Muskie. This definitely fits the description of the term "Anomaly". That's a term that means "That wasn't supposed to happen"! What did our John do? Caught two of 'em, inside of 15-20 minutes ! To me, that sounds like some kind of record!

Great catch man!! I've fished the same river all my life. I was raised in Etowah TN. That one of my favorite places to fish. I know they have giant lake trout on the lake side. That one thing Tn does is put over half of the fees back into the rivers and recreational areas and it makes me proud that we have diverse fishery. Great job love the content!!

Awesome catches!!! As some friendly advice, Muskie die very quickly when out of the water, especially after a long fight, which is why many Muskie fishermen use 30-50 ib line, to reel them in fast and let them go fast so they don’t die, basically don’t want to fight them much if you can help it. But with that pole and line, I would have done the same thing. And also btw, they were intended to be in the river, TWRA stocked around 700 in 2017 and 1000 of them in 2019 in parksville. Great video John !! Man that was a good decision to get out and go fish that day, only would’ve been better if you had you someone filming that day lol still fun to watch. I’ve never caught a musky, one day I’ll hopefully catch one. . Gotta watch those rocks on the knee’s, they aren’t any fun and the older we get the worse they hurt lol

Been there, done that, as it relates to rocks and kneebones. Hurts like somebody threw a Baseball, and hit you in the back, or some really sensitive area. I'd have to do some real screaming, if that ever happened to me! The only pain that I can think of, that's worse than this is getting hit in the Groin. That'll make ya wanna lay down, with yer "Berries" in the palm of your hands, holding them to stop the pain ... which can take a good while to totally stop! Got hit by a Baseball one time...and I definitely rolled around, fighting the pain!!!

Nice fish. You don't necessarily need grippers to land those muskie. Slide four fingers in the mouth through lower part of gill plate. Then grab the bottom jaw (gum line) of the fish with those four fingers & thumb on the outside of fishes lower jaw. It sounds intimidating but you'll be fine with a good grip. Those grippers have potential to damage the fishes mouth. More then your hand would. Also, glad you went out. I would kill for open water right now. Lakes & rivers up here are iced out. Thanks for videos!

I'm from east Tennessee and they released I believe it was 1000 musky in the rivers down here I've never caught one but would really be cool too

Musky are native to Tennessee, mostly in the Cumberland river range, but they are up and down the Tennessee river and streams in East Tennessee

Super day! I remember my very first musky, I was slip bobber fishing for crappie and kept losing my curly tail jigs. After about half dozen, I finally hooked up with the monster! I was stunned. We managed to boat him, measured him, admired, and released him. I’ve never successfully caught another; that was 35 years ago 😯

What great fish! If you ever want to take a road trip out west we live in NW Montana and my husband and I would love to have you visit and fish with us. We don’t have muskies but we do have Northern Pike along with largemouth and smallmouth bass, perch, sunfish and several species of trout. We have a guest cabin and live about 5 minutes from the Clark Fork river, which is about 40 miles of reservoirs in this section.

Nice! I went to school in Western Wisconsin. One my unforgettable fishing moments was hooking into a 40inch musky while wading for smallmouths in the Chippewa River. I was casting a rat-l-trap with sort of a crawfish coloration on it. There was this side run with a bunch of eight maybe ten foot bowl shaped holes, all gravel. I got the lure right next to where I was stand and it stopped dead. I lifted it up and saw this eye looking at me. Then it was on. One of the best fishing memories of my life. Congratulations!

WOW, whatta fish. I grew up fishing these Rivers, creeks and streams in southeast Tennessee and I have never caught a muskie or pike. My fishing partner caught an 8 lb Pike below Chickamauga Dam. I really enjoy your when I am not fishing. Good Job 👍
