Bushnell Launch Pro - I no longer have it because I traded it for the GCQuad. I would still recommend this as the best portable launch monitor for most people.

If you are not in the US, the Launch Pro is not available for you so I would recommend the Foresight GC3. It is the same exact launch monitor with different branding.

I can say I agree almost 100% with this review. I indeed DID buy another section to extend such that my LM (GC3) can sit on it and I can hit driver and iron with the LM staying in the same location (and level with the ball). The only thing I will say that I disagreed with was the fact that hitting off the gel insert does feel a bit softer AND something maybe overlooked by the reviewer. This is definitely a mat that will penalize you for fat shots. Lastly, the reason why I bought this mat was to reduce the change of getting elbow pain and that 100% was accomplished. I have not had any elbow pain with this mat at all. Overall, great review and I wish I had seen your channel sooner! (Although, I bought my mat a few years before this video was made! )

Thank you so much for these videos. I recently designed and setup a flight scope & GSPro simulator in my garage and it is working great. My question, if you have time to answer it, is much like your room I am a right handed golfer. I do not have the swing distance on my left side due to a wall. When swinging a driver or 3 wood I need to cheat to the righthand side of the screen to avoid hitting the wall. From this video it looks like you have the aiming point on your screen offset to the right say 1/3 of the screen, how do you set that in GSPro? That would solve a lot of alignment issues and I would very much appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Absolutely. In GSPro while playing, hit the “L” key to bring up the visual settings. On the bottom you can adjust the offset for right hand or left handed players. If you’re right handed just move the slider on that one until it looks correct. You can also do it in the main GSPro visual settings from the main screen by entering an exact measurement for the offset if you want to measure it.

I had purchased the Sig softy recently, it arrived shortly after your video review of it. I am happy with the feel of it so far. This is the first mat I’ve ever bought and this review confirms I made the correct choice for my setup. Thank you.

Glad it was helpful. None of this stuff is cheap so it’s good to avoid buying twice!

Outside of the price, I actually like this mat. I bought this set up for the extra weight so that it wouldn't slide around when hitting. I just have it on top of my sim carpet, so there were no worries about turf butting up to it. I use a GC2 and there have been no issues with putting over the logo piece and onto the floor. As far as the gel insert, I'm not completely sold on it. I have a CCE mat and like it just as well. That being said, I'm not a digger, so someone that is a little more steep might be able to tell more of a difference. My biggest grip, outside of the price, would be that the center gets worn down fairly quickly, so it makes having a smooth putting surface a little more difficult. Not impossible, but challenging.

What is that adjustable platform your putting mats in?

In my other mat videos? I was using my Fiberbuilt traditional mat base and dropping the other hitting strips into it.

Own it and it’s been great and keeping pain away from joints but your points of it being modular is 1000% correct. It’s a pain in the neck to move around. Which Matt is better ?

For me the SIGPro Softy was my favorite. It’s light, simple, and the hitting strip is exactly the feel I wanted. Soft enough that it won’t cause any pain but not so soft it’s unrealistic. I wish it the hitting strip was larger though, I think it’s 12x28.

If your setup was outside, which mat would you go with? Not sure how the sigpro would hold up outdoors

Firstly I enjoy your videos and I have been following your LM and mat reviews with interest as I plan to setup my own sim soon, and I am also currently suffering from Tennis elbow. I hope you take the below comments as constructive criticism from someone that watches a lot of review videos. Sorry but I have to say quite a few of your gripes with this mat seem to be self inflicted because you bought it without checking the specs and that obviously doesn't suit your sim setup and you seemed pretty negative from the get go, perhaps because of your own mistakes, but you never really owned those mistakes when you were pointing out the issues caused by your own lack of research, if the title was "The mistake I made, and why this mat doesn't suit my Sim" you would be sorted, you also need to remember a lot of issues you raised were very subjective to your setup and should be made more as comments than something to rate the product down because of. Also I think even though the modular design may be unnecessary for most, its usefulness is obvious especially for golf clubs and driving ranges (most likely the target market), the fact that you can order another section to fix your LM setup issues only proves that 🙂 I agree they are very expensive, I was lucky enough to pickup a first gen model for $50, and the Gel mat is quite different and the tee is Intergrated into it, top picture - www.truestrike.com/latest-news/evolution-truestrike-golf-mats/, but due to it's age I am not sure how long the gel mat will last and I don't think I can get a replacement for this older model. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for watching and providing your thoughts. I agree with you for the most part and I actually thought that I was being clear about most concerns being my own opinion. A lot of things, especially hitting mats, are very subjective and I’ve tried to keep that in mind with all the hitting mat reviews. What feels good to me might not to someone else with a different swing. I try to give some factual information about the products but when it comes to what’s good and bad I try (or intend) to communicate that I’m sharing my own personal opinion for the most part. I also agree I think I came across too negative in the video but honestly there wasn’t much that I liked or I would have talked more about it. The hitting mat videos have been basically unscripted and I’m just sharing my thoughts about them as I go. At the end I said if you own it, keep it, but I just think there’s better options for similar or less money. I think that was my way of saying it’s not a horrible mat there’s just others that I liked much better. So I basically agree with your feedback and actually most of your suggestions are what I was intending, even though it must not have come across that way. That said I think I stand by my opinion in the video. I did not pay attention to the dimensions when I purchased it but I think it’s too small, especially compared to other “single” hitting mats. You definitely could add another piece to it to make more room for a launch monitor but that adds $200+ to the price making it even more expensive compared to mats I liked better. Thanks again for watching and providing feedback (seriously). I will be keeping it in mind when I try to get some points across in future videos.
