Thayer's Greek Lexicon expounds the meaning of "Latreia": - "ministration (worship/divine service) to God". - also means "sacred service as per requirements of the Levitical Law". The Levitical Law was the law given for "approaching & worshipping" God in the Old Testament. The verses in the Bible where the same word "latreia" is used: John 16:2, Romans 9:4, Romans 12:1, Hebrews 9:1,6 When we imbibe the true meaning of 'worship' that 'born-again children of God' should involve themselves in, then we have truly realised who we are in Christ: His child & His temple, where He dwells. A born-again believer gives his whole body as "worship" to his Savior. Corporate/individual singing & music don't compare to it.

Sure, GOD still makes pastors like John, just not as visible. There are many devoted biblical pastors labouring in "obscurity". Besides the many others of his ilk that we do see - Lawson, Peters, Baucham,, to name a few. I am very grateful for his teaching and his life, but be careful not to put him on a pedestal, which many accuse of doing, and which he himself would not want.

@@judyswiderski2682 The NAS is one of the best English translations there is. Of course, if you have bought into the KJV only movement then you will likely not hear my my words. All enough translations though have their issues including the KJV.

@@retrograd332 EXACTLY! Every Bible is a translation of the original text. The NAS is a word for word translation. The KJV debate is one of the most ridiculous things by some that holds no weight at all.

It’s a hard balance for these ministers. They deal with their own shortcomings. They are speaking messages that someone needs to hear. We can be patient and learn from them even if the message is mostly doctrine sprinkled with love. May we grow in maturity, too.
