if admin adminadmin not works for you, you need to click in three points in the top right side of deployment and click in the pod logs, to see the ramdon password generated for your at first start.
!!! If still not working you have to restart the app. !!! By the time you realize the default password doesn't work anymore and you found this comment, your IP has been banned. You need to restart the app, and then check logs again for the new random password. . . . . . .
Thank you! I had some issues as things have changed. This video still helped a ton. -Admin adminadmin is no longer working anymore, you have to check the logs, its a random password in the log, change it fast. -I had issues with permissions and groups, I would advise everyone to set that up correctly using another video about it as its kinda complex. Just go through it, as my permissions were very wrong, they still mostly are but it now works.

I'm getting permission denied for my qbitorrent setup. I had the apps groups for my SMB share initially set to modify, then I set it to full control, but I still get permission denied when it tries to make the directory for the fedora iso I'm testing.
So... I have a Win11 box with some torrents that have been seeding for quite some time. is it possible to move the massive amount of files & linked torrents over to this so I don't loose my Ratio?
I wonder if you might consider a video explaining the latest install methods for some of these. Maybe explain why I would use the Truecharts versions of these apps and how to go through that process on one or two? I am currently slogging through these installs and struggling to get all the directories correct for the host path, but the official apps seem so much easier to setup. How would I benefit from installing the Truecharts versions?
You and me both friend. Seems everything I want to make my server or network do requires hours worth of reading and research just to understand when and where to input simple information. I know when I am finally done, I am going to have so many useless/wasteful datasets, users, smb shares, groups, and pools from my own trial and error lol.
seconded. i've followed this and every other install guide multiple times and while the location of most of these settings have changed i think i managed to find and change all the settings but get download errored every time.... dozens of times since i started 2 days ago.

I have followed your guide on setup and install of Truenas. Than I follow installation of Qbittorrent from this video. My problem is... when I tried to download a test torrent, qbit app status immedialy shows "errored" and does nothing after that. What could be wrong?

Hi there. TrueNAS core user here. I've done approximately what you've done here, however; my mounting points are; Source; /mnt/MainPool/Media (this is my non password protected SMB share) Destination; /mnt/MediaPool (A missnomer really because this pool is a different HD that i selected to originally store JUST media, but since it's non redundant, i'd rather just store easaly downloadable programs here)/iocage/jails/qbittorrent/root/var/db/qbittorrent/Downloads As i understand it is that the "virtual machene"-like jail that qBittorrent is working in saving files to is downloaded to the media pool however there are no files to be found there as you did here in the video :( what am i doing wrong?
tienes 2 opciones para solucionar ese inconveniente. el primero es dar permiso de escritura al usuario ID y al grupo ID el segundo que en la instalación pongas el ID del usuario q usas y el grupo de ID con el que tienes configurado tu TRUENAS en mi caso es el 3000 ID usuario y ya esta funciona normal
Thanks for the video! I am stuck though, i've put the mount path in pod as /media (and did that in qbittorrent too) And put the host path as /mnt/pool/datasetname but my torrent gets instantly stalled. Do you know might've happend?
I have had that happen when the permissions for the dataset are not correct. After it says stalled does it change to ERROR? If so add the user you created for yourself to the apps group. Then change the permissions for the dataset to Owner: apps Group: apps Don't forget to check the "Apply User" and the "Apply Group" boxes. Also check the " Apply permissions recursively" and then finally check the "Apply permissions to child datasets" save and try to download something. Hopefully this fixes your problem.
@@CaputoDavide93 Click on Credentials, then Local Groups, and once there click on the gear in the upper right. Select show click the show button in the pop up. All that is left is to add your local user to the Apps group.

@@LoResDIY First, thanks for the video, your always very clear. But, qbittorrent status shows stalled and won't change. If I do force resume, it stuck on downloading but nothing downloads. I've spent over 6 weeks trying to get my system to download files using qBittorrent to Truenas Scale and it same on Truenas Core. I followed your instructions and same thing after change Owner: apps and Group: apps. Any other suggestions as I can write to that dataset from other systems (Ubuntu, Debian) directly but now from a docker container using qBittorrent.
During on of the last updates for TNS they set that up as a security precaution., but there is a work around. Create the share, transfer your media to the share, delete the share, and plex should start up and run.

Could be permission issue, during setup of QBitTorrent in TrueNAS (You can edit the application to view this) Is the user and group id 568? In TrueNas Scale user 568 is the user `apps` This user is however not visible in the user UI in truenas. In TrueNas goto System Settings -> Shell -> and navigate to the folder [cd ..] [cd /mnt/] Then run ls -la to view owner of your folder If it isn't apps:apps then run `chown -R apps:apps ` What the command means chown - change owner -R - Recursive, so it will apply the chown to all subdirs apps:apps - means user:group Hope this helps :)
