Thanks for taking the time to show a different media option. Looking forward to your Truenas scale PLEX vid. Would also like to see a Pihole vid in the future. Keep up the Truenas scale content...it helps out a ton.
This is amazing, I know that most of the content on youtube is for plex. However, some people prefer Emby and have a lifetime pass. Thank you so much, I really love your videos!
@@LoResDIY Something that I found out that I ended up troubleshooting was the appearance/disappearance of my media in my emby folders. Luckily, I was able to figure it out for myself. I've been trying to get my media to emby for months. I followed your directions to a "test" file with some movies in it, and I was able to get it to populate. When I added more, and added other folders, emby saw them as blank and anything removed no longer came back when I added it to another folder. The fix was to navigate to Trunas Scale and to the storage where my files were, going into permissions/edit, and giving permission to the user and group for the profile "apps". This allowed emby to add/delete/change the files in my media folder. It is a really important step that is difficult to figure out. I eventually found a truecharts video on how to fix this called "adding storage to truecharts". I don't know if this applies to you or not, but it's something that might affect some of your users. Please continue with the truenas scale apps tutorials, they are golden. You describe everything in a really awesome way and I have added all of the apps you have and am excited for more. I'm also really happy you looked into emby and you had a good time and want to take her on another date!!
you have movies that didnt automatically show the movie logo. you can force it to use whatever you want by Editing the Metadata and search for the movie title.
It depends on if you are storing your media an the same machine, or on a NAS. If it is the same machine you can use any directory you like, but if it is on a NAS you will need to mount the network drive to you bare metal server.
@@LoResDIY The Emby/TrueNAS test machine has data on it. I just can't access it on the same bare metal machine. It's all in one place... just can't find the damn folder lol
Do you have any tutorials on how to set up a torrent downloader with a vpn service? I’ve been trying to figure it out the last few days and have not found any guides for truenas scale
I haven't tried it yet but I would imagine if you make a virtual machine using Ubuntu Desktop as the operating system. It has transmission installed already and you could then install a VPN (Private Internet Access or Nord VPN, or whatever you like) and boom your up and running.
i use Windows in a VM with Private Internet Access (make sure the killswitch is turned ON) and specify the torrent downloads to a mapped drive that's on another machine (1 VM, one network computer). It's really not that hard. Also, i use qBittorrent. let me know if you want to DM/IM or whatever.
