Thank you brother! I nearly didn’t share this one! 😅 I thought it might be of interest to some folks - not my finest work but then I am an Ork mad Dok after all! 🤘 thanks for tuning in my friend 👍
I’m with you on this don’t like the height , I started to build some last night got 2 done and stopped, off to the hobby shop tomorrow to get some milliput 🇦🇺👍🏻
🙌 nice to hear that I’m not alone! This seems to be a very divisive and emotive topic! 😅 thanks for tuning in mate I appreciate the support! Best of luck with your termies! ✊
Most of my firstborn are already built and on the original smaller 25mm bases so I'm going to get some new larger 32mm bases and just add them underneath the current bases to make the hill. If and when I ever get to building my HH stuff, I will definately be doing this method. Thanks!
Excellent idea good Sir! Efficient and practical - love it 👍 thank you for watching mate. I don’t consider this video to be my finest hour but I’m glad if it has any utility 🙂 stay tuned for more shenanigans! 😉
I find that all (plastic) marks of terminator armour are pretty forgiving for embiggening, there are loads of good ways including the ones you show here. The only issue is a weird IP one where terminators of any type are never depicted with any pouches or wargear on their waists, just trinkets, so it limits options for concealment (for me). Also i agree that the Cataphractii aren't great sculpts, imo they look like low tier open source STL ' Battlemace 69k Elite Space Knights' with lame poses, sloppy, un-crisp, details and lazy Cad 'mirror tool' copy paste armour trim (guns are SWEET tho).
Thank you for sharing your thoughts mate 🙂 yes generally Terminators are easier to upscale. These ones were never my favourites but I am working on something a bit more deliberate for these so stay tuned 😁 thank you for watching 🙏
I'm currently trying to upscale deathwing terminators the plastic GW set, I've seen people do it using primaris aggressor legs but that's a very expensive option so erm yeah it looks like it's greens stuff time .
Yeah it’s a problem! The best results I have personally had is with Aggressor legs but it certainly is a bit pricey. Heavy intercessor legs are ok and even Hellblaster legs can provide a serviceable platform - I have done videos using all three of these options - go check them out mate it might help you decide 🙂 thanks for tuning in and best of luck with it 👍
I’ve tried a couple of times but never liked the results. Also it’s just a bit too fiddly for me; I like to keep things as simple as possible 🙂 thank you for watching mate 👍
Oooof at the terminator. Its head is where its chest should be. Really bad anatomy. Sculpt the abdomen blob a little, lower the arms a millimeter, the pauldron or some such over the abdomen and chest... Sort of uparmored, add the studs to "hold" it. Though not keen on the front and rear... Maybe use greenstuff on the sides? Or plasticard? What do you think? More about the proportions than the skinny 90's American footbal player look in the middle.
I’m actually a physical therapist in my day job - so imagine how I feel about terminator anatomy!! 😱😂 - everything you say is right but this was deliberately very low effort! (As is much of my stuff actually!) 🤣 yes I’m more than happy to leave the fine tweaking conversion work to much more talented creators! My niche is very rough and ready! Thanks for checking in brother and stay tuned for more shenanigans! 👍
Two parts to this story as I see it. Part one, you are embracing the hobby and personalising it, the rule of cool stands out. Kudos to you for that. The second part is the reasoning you are using. The Cataphractii terminators comparison to Primaris marines is an apples and oranges job. First of all they never existed in the same time space. The Cataphractii are 30k and the Primaris are 40k, so 10,000 years apart. Secondly, the Primaris are late to 40k and were built on dimensions that would compare them as Terminator size compared with the first borne marines of 40k. So the fact that the Primaris are similar in size to the Cataphractii is actually appropriate. Did you compare the Cataphractii with the standard marines of the 30k era? Finally, I agree that making the waist size a bit bigger was in keeping with the height extension. However I would have inverted the way you fit the pauldrons around the waist so that the pauldron flared like a skirt at the waist and the cut away would look more natural. All a bit past the use by date I know but this only came up on my you tube today.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate you understanding my need to personalise the hobby 🙂 In ‘my’ 40k universe all marines are Primaris size and always have been. For me I strive to bring other space marine models that I own up to primaris size because in my imagination this is correct when compared to a cadian, whereas the firstborn size is just incorrect. This is just how I’m always going to feel about it! I’m not adverse to changing the lore to suit me! 😄 As it happens, this was very much done on the fly and I have experimented with other better methods for the Cataphractii. TBH they are the ugliest Termies anyway in my opinion! 🤣 thanks for taking the time to watch brother 🙏
As someone starting collecting in late 2023 the "all marines are primaris and we don't talk about firstborn" is definitely the approach I'm taking. These sorts of conversions are what I'm looking for. Thank you.
@@vixsplays7170I’m glad if you’ve found some common ground - I’ve been around 40k for nearly 30 years and I’m very much of the opinion that Primaris size is correct for me 🙂 thanks for tuning in brother 👍
Whatever makes you happy mate! 👍🙂 many people dislike what I do but it makes me happy with my hobby and that’s the most important thing eh? 😉 thanks for watching brother 👍
