We're starting something new! Our tasting table videos will feature 2-3 people trying a few of our current mango varieties. In this video, Bill from Davie, FL and Chris taste: Rosa Dwarf Hawaiian Ice Cream
My first mango of the season we ate Sunday. I picked it last Sunday so it took a week to ripen. It was a Rosigold. This video got me to pick one of my biggest Dwarf Hawaiians and I’ll wait and hope it ripens up and it should if yours are ripening well. I am 75 miles south of you. Bought the tree from you 3 years ago. I would not have picked it based on its appearance but after seeing yours’ what the heck. Thanks!!!! I saw the video you previously made with the gentleman in this video. He belongs on the screen cause he looks like a movie star. His home video was one of your best. His presentation was soooo great. His orchard was amazing!! Thanks for contributing all this information for growers and consumers.
Regarding fibers, there seems to be two types I find in mangoes, the stringy type that is coarse very strong and does not break that easily. and then there is the fibers, that when you bite the fruit, your teeth actually cut through them without any problem , they break easily.
Hey OG, I'm getting one for a container. BTW my fruit punch hasn't shown one bit of growth besides these small tiny bulbs forming at the tips of the branches. Hoping when the warmer weather gets here it really starts flushing out.
So, it seems "Rosa" is the earliest ripening mango in S FL? I'm in SWFL, and thinking to plant the earliest ripening mango I can find. (Taste be darned! :-) )
