Today, Craig and Celeste taste an Angie Mango grown in Homestead, Florida.
We will be tasting both mangos grown at our own farm on the west coast of Florida and from other Florida farms (mainly on the east coast). Mangos taste different when grown in different conditions and when picked at different times/ripened differently. Our opinions of a particular mango are just that - opinions on one specific mango, off of a specific tree, growing in a a specific location. We are not evaluating a variety in general and by no means intend to offend anyone by our less than stellar review of what might be your favorite mango.
Sulcata Grove is our 2 acre, backyard food forest. We grow over 60 varieties of bananas along with many fruit trees. Our videos are family friendly.

Enjoy your video's...thumbs up ! Always tasting here right along with you ! I had a REALLY ripe (but likely Not over-ripe) Angie today from the tree from some Tropical Nursery friends here in Metro Phx...when like that, it is incredible.

It was - these are great when not picked to late and allowed to get over ripe.

Thanks for the great review, as always. We tried Angie at the start of our mango tasting adventure, this year. Enjoyed them very much, but made sure not to eat them overripe. I prefer mango cultivars which are still delicious, even when overripe, such as Orange Sherbet and Venus. Sometimes, a mango can get overlooked, and go ripe very quickly, especially when ripening them in a hot location, and I truly dislike having to throw any mango away!

Thanks for all the great videos. Could you please make a tasting video on the cotton candy mango before the 2019 season is over. Thanks

I’m gone this week, but I noticed the last Cotton Candy on our kitchen table when we left and asked Craig to film tasting it if he and the girls are able to eat it this week. It’s the first year our tree produced though, so I’m not sure the fruit would be at its peak from such a young tree. We took one up to Maine to share with some friends last month and although we opened it a bit under ripe, it was good. Some of our friends liked it better than others, but most still loved the coconut cream the best.

Which is best an Angie or a Pickering?
@SulcataGrove
@SulcataGrove 5 лет назад
Juliano J. We personally prefer Pickering since it has a longer period of being delicious - a little under ripe or over ripe and it’s still great. Angie needs to be eaten before it gets too ripe

But Angie is semi-dwarf. Would a grower want a semi-dwarf tree?
