On March 9th, 1919, Ruth Elwood was found wandering through the desert in Lincoln County. She was dehydrated, disorientated, and had strange markings across her body.
The doctor who examined her stated in his report, that due to her injuries and exposure to the elements he was astonished that she was still alive.
At the time, she refused to talk about what happened to her and was discharged from the hospital a couple of days later.
