Lindsay Graham meant every word of what he said. He honestly gave us permission to use his words against him. He did this because his word never has and never will matter. He knew we could hold it against him and it wouldn't make a difference.

The US could do with a proportional-voting system. That way, every vote counts equally. Here in NZ we used to have the UK-style first-past-the-post voting for electorate MPs, and there were a couple of times where the party that got the most seats in Parliament actually had fewer votes than the opposition. Since we adopted the German style of proportional voting, that can’t happen any more. The German system was also designed to ensure that a dictator could never get power in that country again. That’s one reason we liked it in NZ. Maybe the US should try it?
USA has 617 Covid deaths per million. Canada has 244. So the US death rate is about two and one half times worse than Canada's. If America had better leadership and public health (like Canada and most developed nations) resulting in a lower death rate, 120,000 more Americans could be alive today, a120,000 fewer families would be mourning their loss. Germany and Denmark have death rates as low as 110 per million. The rest of the world is baffled that the USA, once a beacon of scientific excellence now chooses to believe political rhetoric over science. It's sad to witness the decline of a once great nation. Who you vote for is literally a matter of life and death. So please think, respect science, then vote. Then get everyone you know to vote.

I think you are right, this is all so very depressing, but they, whoever they are, are not taking anything away from us unless we let them. Nothing that DJT and his enablers can say or do can invalidate what I feel. To me, it's obvious that all DJT does is to destabilize and divide. This is where he finds his pseudo-strength. Remember what he said in the interview with Chris Wallace: "I don't like to lose." In his mind, there are only winners and losers, whatever the cost. It's part of his game amplified by all the medias, all of them, who are also getting distracting by all that, seem to forget that that's all for show. Behind all DJT's megalomaniac illusions of grandeur, he's just a very scared little boy who would attach himself to the resolute desk to stay in power, and he thinks he can do it by naming a very conservative judge on the Supreme Court. It just not only shows his desperation fueled by his conviction that he will lose. But a lot of us know the "reality" DJT is trying to shovel down our throats is very much disconnected from what is happening. He's just trying to get people all riled up with his lies and hypocrisy. These are all distractions. No compassion for the 200,000 and counting souls that have been lost to a disease, he knew it was very contagious but chose to ignore it to protect his chances at getting "reelected." Introspection and self-discipline are not his forte. Politics aside, DJT does not care about truth. From my part, since a lot of what's happening is mainly circumstances out of my immediate control, I meditate every day to feel the flow of universal love pass through me to be able to pass it forward. It's my very small contribution to this atmosphere of hate and fear, all basic instincts, that threatening to engulf us if we let it. I belief the kind of behaviors bear in themselves their own hell. There is also hope everywhere, for example, there are a lot of people taking to the streets to protest against all that hate. I'm a registered Republican. If a Supreme Court nomination is rushed through the Senate before election day, I will vote against every Republican on my ballot. It was right to let the people decide in 2016 and its right now.
And what will you do when Republicans don't hold a vote before the election, lose the election, and then force through a SCOTUS vote during the lame duck period after losing the Senate? That's pretty obviously their plan at the moment - the few who spoke against placing a new judge were all careful to specify "before the election" and they have not a single scruple to share between the 53 of them. If you think they wouldn't do something like that, then I've got a beautiful oceanfront property in Nebraska to sell you. Also I do disagree that the situations are the same - Obama nominated Garland, a moderate who Republicans had specifically name-dropped as an "acceptable compromise" that Obama would "totally never nominate", in March. Half of the clips in these videos were from February. Obama literally had an entire quarter of his second term left at that time and the party conventions hadn't picked a nominee for president yet. This time, Trump has three months left (or 1/16 of a term) and the party conventions are over with debates coming up fast. Hell, if the seat somehow isn't filled before Biden is inaugurated, Republicans will change their tune to something even more stupid, like, "you can't appoint a judge in your first year before you've gained experience!" or "you can't appoint a judge in an election term!" The logic doesn't matter, the ends justify the means entirely for the GOP.

Does anyone honestly believe this was their belief in 2016? And that it's totally not a flimsy after the fact justification they just now made up? Even taken as genuine, it doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. You have to hold off justice hearings in order to wait and to see if the "will of the people" calls for a different president, but not if the senate is the same party? Doesn't the same "will of the people" also decide the senate? Why aren't you waiting to see if the people want a different senate? "The American people gave us a MANDATE to fill this seat!" Amazing how election outcomes are only a MANDATE when it's Republicans winning. They used every dirty obstruction trick they could even when they didn't control the executive branch or either house of the legislative. And how can you really call it a mandate when their president lost by nearly 3 million votes and only squeaked in on an outdated technicality? Their senate "majority" also only represents 48% of the country's population. But the more insane part is that only 40% of 2018 midterms voters voted for Republican senators compared to 60% for Democrats (34.7 million to 52.2 million). You're calling THAT a mandate, you disingenuous turd McConnell? The Affordable Care Act was a mandate to a president who actually won the popular vote, and a senate that actually reflected the majority will, and you uncaring assholes made it your top #1 priority to do away with it. There doesn't seem to be any long term hope for saving this country from billionaire lapdog Republicans without completely abolishing the senate (or at least reducing it to a powerless vestige like the British were smart enough to do with the House of Lords). It's an undemocratic holdover from a time when states weren't sure that forming a new country was a good idea, so they had to throw a bone to smaller states. It's way worse now though, because in 1790 the difference in population between the largest and smallest states was 12:1. Today it's 70:1. It's insane that Vermont and New Hampshire get twice the voting power of California just because of an arbitrary line on the map. But it will never happen because you'd need approval of 2/3rds of the states, and the smaller states would never give up their disproportionate power. And now with their control of the supreme court for the next 30 years, NOTHING is going to get fixed. The court is going to rubberstamp everything a Republican administration does no matter how blatantly unlawful, and strike down anything a Democratic administration does no matter how overwhelmingly supported. And the only check against supreme court abuse of power is impeachment which again comes back to the damn senate instead of the House which better represents the majority will of the people. We're fucked. We're really, really fucked. Look forward to mass "sedition" arrests anytime a window gets broken within a mile of any protest which will be used as justification to declare it "violent anarchists" (even if it's caused by a cop or white supremacist instigator). They're probably also going to finally make good on their threats to start arresting any blue state governor/mayor for "allowing" those protests to take place. How is the voting public so fucking dumb that they can't see calls for "law & order" by violently putting down protestors as the usual hallmark of fascism?
@Robert McConnell I am already destitute from my genetic illness and I was making 6 figures with great insurance when I started down this path. Best of luck to you guys.....
Trump and Biden were both teens in the 60's. Biden saw the riots and thought "those poor people". Trump saw it and thought "those poor landlords". It took 50 years but it looks we're finally going to settle this. I for one am nervous.
It's why they were pushing the narrative after the RNC that "Biden needs to be tested for drugs". It's always projection, they know Trump's tripping half the time.
Right...like Pelosi doesn't do the same damn thing in the House. Are you blind? McConnell had the power to stop a vote in 2016 and now has the power to have a vote. You are correct though, if you don't like it vote your side in. However, the blue plays the same political games.

There are 19 times that a SCOTUS was Nominated during presidential election year 17 was confirmed, just 2 was not confirmed including OBAMAS. You should always fact check, Don't listen to Fake News.
You ever wonder why the Republicans won the Senate majority when Obama was President maybe it was a referendum on Obama and que someone saying white supremacy or so other buzz words
@@druxusthemage9806 the Republicrats "Lost" 1000 seats across the political spectrum during the Obama presidency but polite folk don't talk about that.
MJB For Trump Having SENATE majority doesn’t justify him going against the same ruling Republicans came up with for Obama. Facts: it was 8 months prior to election for Obama. It’s now LESS THAN 2 MONTHS BEFORE ELECTION FOR TRUMP. it should make it even more mandatory to have the people vote for the new seat! And used all caps for the Republicans, since it seems the only way they can write or read texts. 😜
@MJB For Trump 1.According to the Constitution, there is no need for a Senate majority in this case. 2. It's called a "justice", not a judge. In fact, you don't know what you're talking about.

One step closer to Adolph H every day. Disgusting. Worse than the Presidents that rounded up native americans and put them in concentration camps.. I mean reservations. Evil to the core. Trump and every single person who supports him. If they had any conscience, any sense of decency, they wouldn’t be able to look at themselves in the mirror. But they don’t.
To be fair, they kind of had a point back then; no supreme court justice has been nominated in the last year of a president's term since something like the 1880s. Of course this just makes the hypocrisy now that much more aggravating. And it wasn't acceptable back then, there was just some flimsy justification
@@rubykelly2305 - The sad part is they didn't even have to offer up that flimsy excuse. After all, to be successfully nominated to the court you need to be approved by a majority of the Senate. And Mitch and his fellow Republicans held the majority back then too. So they could have just openly admitted that as long as they held the majority that they would never approve of anyone put forth by the Democratic party. It would have been frustrating, but at least the blatant honesty would have been refreshing.
Back when i was in high school i was dreaming of moving to the united states, everything seemed great there. Now i'll be graduating uni in a few years and i've learned so much stuff about the USA, some things i can't believe how bad they are from no public healthcare insurance to the gun laws and from the electoral system to policy making in general. These 4 years of trump have been a disaster in my eyes, i'm calling right now that if trump gets another 4 years, man u.s. citizens you..are..screwed. Trump will make america "great" again, but all great things come to an end, be it the great roman empire or the great third reich. USA will fall apart at the seams and it will take decades to recover
Sorry to tell you but all of those things you just listed about America like no healthcare, gun laws, and the electoral system have been pretty much exactly the way they are for hundreds of years lol. This is nothing new. If Trump loses and Joe Biden gets elected do you honestly believe that will make some huge difference? I have news for you, the Democrats are about 90% as corrupt and willing to lie and bend the knee to corporate interests as the Republicans. Almost every American politician is bought and paid for by one corporate interest or another. The only real difference between Republicans and Democrats is on a few social issues. Biden has already said in no uncertain terms that even if a Medicare For All bill was somehow miraculously passed that he would veto it. Democrats and Republicans are BOTH lying corrupt scumbags who could care less about anyone who isnt wealthy or a corporation. Do you even understand how Trump came into power in the US? Idiots voted for him because they were so fed up and angry at the political system that anyone who promised to change things and who appeared like a Washington outsider was a refreshing thought to them. Dont get me wrong Trump lied to them all and played them for fools, but Trump is a symptom of the disease, not the cause of it. Voting Trump out in November (if that happens) is not going to change much for the country. Until the Supreme Court changes their decision on Citizens United our political system will remain broken and government will never represent the interests of the people, only corporations and big money. Citizens United was the nail in the coffin for the US political system. The only hope we have is that at some point the corrupt government and politicians will take so much away from the people, remove so many social programs, raise taxes so high, and give so much power to corporations that the people will literally revolt and start burning stuff to the ground. You think the protests this year were big? Imagine 50 million or 75 million people protesting like that. Eventually it will come to that. There is no other way I see things improving in our country. The government is completely and utterly unsalvagable in its current form.
@@tgreaux5027 Yeah my comment was unclear, i meant that as a kid i only saw the good sides of the usa but as I started learning about the country i saw its faults. At this point i wouldn't want to live in the usa whether they have a democrat or a republican president. I just think having trump for another 4 years will actually mean the end of democracy for the usa and its effect will ripple throughout the world, because the usa is still a world leader and example for the world you see more and more leaders with extreme populist and somewhat racist and slight fascistic tendencies rise up
Let's hope it never recovers! The US are the greatest threat to the world. A country that is so fundamentally flawed and malicious should never ever hold any form of meaningful power.
a while back I gave it some serious consideration, moving to US for a job and bringing the family over permanently, that was back in the Obama years and I decided against it purely because of the school shootings. These days I dont even consider a 1 week vacation in the US, kids keep asking why dont we go to DisneyLand, etc.. my standard reply is no and hell no!
"We have to _delay_ the nomination so we can get a Conservative judge on the Supreme Court." Republicans, 2016 "We have to _rush_ the nomination so we can get a we can get a Conservative judge on the Supreme Court." Republicans, 2020
its far worse than that, its not only lying about your position, its lying about a position you posited before as if we dont have evidence of such, its implying the united states public are too stupid to research it, and you know what? for the most part they are right to think that, tons of people refuse to get current or accurate information and we should be ashamed of ourselves as well as them for allowing the political climate to become as caustic and combative as our actual climate.
You should know, you believe the main stream mockinbird media lies. But you don't, because you lack the intellect. And that is percisely what the democrats are counting on.
@@Ed-ty1kr Specifics. If you are going to claim the media are being dishonest, which they all do since they are all corporate-owned and pushing their own agenda, then be specific. You also seem to think that Democrats are the party of the unintelligent, yet it's Republicans who have a war on education, a party full of uneducated simpletons, and a leader who can't even spell 'hamburger' and had to get someone else to write his SATs.
