When I saw him raise his fist in the air and say fight fight fight, my immediate thought was "he just won the election". I wasn't going to vote. I can't stand Biden and I was a little afraid of Trump. Watching many many videos about him today, listening to him, listening to his followers, I have decided. I am going to vote for Trump!

During the first Gulf War our military moved so fast, the action was over way before the planned conclusion. That left 1,000s of military personnel needing a flight home and brass hadn't planned on that contingency. Trump sent his planes to pick up military personnel and bring them home. He loves this country and our military.

I am very thankful that Trump is alive and I do like how he prioritized letting his fans and the American people know that he is okay. When my mom saw this happen on TV she was in tears. It's truly shocking how far people are willing to go to make sure Trump doesn't become President again. It's heartbreaking that it was so close to killing him, and something tells me this won't be the last attempt. I pray God protects Trump and keeps him safe, and that this never happens to another Presidential Candidate again. Justice was served to the person who shot at Trump.

My husband and grandson went to the Waco rally. They went through magnetometers and no bags allowed. Either drones or helicopters were flying overhead the entire time. There were snipers on all the buildings. This was in TX, a state that supports him, and his first rally to announce his campaign. At that point people still thought it was a long shot for him to win. How is it that he is now the presumptive nominee and security was so lax?

Look I'm just a loafing Aussie and former military vet who commented on your reaction to the "I Was Only 19" song by our local band Redgum about the Vietnam War. You'll get a lot of disagreement from us on Trump, including from our conservatives. His history strongly suggests to me he's an opportunist. There is nothing he does which benefits someone else (unless they're family members) but not him. The political rhetoric there is extreme and the MAGA side is not an exception to this at all. The USA which I've visited regularly both in and out of the military seems to me to have a weirdly ingrained attitude that the solution to grievances is often at the end of a gun barrel and I'll be pretty surprised if there aren't early reprisals from MAGA. Reading the comments I'm thankful I live somewhere where no-one could care less who you vote for or whether you go to church (religious conviction is as uncommon in our military as it is in the general population - about 1/3 of our population have no particular religious beliefs).
