To be honest, as a European, I think she should have been slightly more diplomatic. Damien I think much of it has to do with Helle Thorning, the acting prime minister under most of the Obama presidency. In a professional sense she and Obama were friendly, and under his presidency Denmark was an established member of EU, NATO and UN cool kids club.

The US has 1.5 million tons of rare earths. Production was shut down for years due to cheap Chinese REMs flooding the market. But, the US restarted production last year, producing 15,000 tons of it. Canada, Australia, Mexico, and India also have large reserves of REM.
