The Dems have thrown everything at Trump including a bullet and his popularity keeps growing. To beat Trump they need to come up with a better candidate and that is not easy to find among Democrats. The only descent person was Senator Manchin whom they did not keep. If they want to beat Trump they need to nominate a ne face and that face is Gen. Ben Hodges.
Racism and sexism are the only issues the Democrats have in their favor. Identifying her as black is intended to solidify support among black voters. Indian Americans are only about 1 to 2% of the population. So, there just isn't an advantage in emphasizing that.

I watched Lauren Southern's Tenet video on Project 25 earlier today and I don't see anything in the 900 or so pages that would cuase any due concern - just reasonable Republican policy proposals about ending DEI and so on from a think tank You shouldn't worry too much - both Trump and Vance have already said that although there's stuff they agree with, there's also stuff there they disagree with.
It's not a coronation. Those of use who voted for Biden/Harris knew all along there was a possibility Harris would be president. WE voted for both to be President!!!
I don't really know how this will go - I thought that the original plan was for Biden to not run this time round, but that plan changed after he did better than people were expecting in 2022 iirc. So, maybe it would have been better to have stuck to plan A in the first place, rather than changing candidate at the last minute like this - but I'm sure there was more of an idea that Harris might become President than usual given Biden's age already in the 2020 election.

I'm not sure it really matters who the new candidate will be. Anyone who is not demented or an anti-democratic crook will probably win. The undecided voters and those who couldn't stomach either candidate will switch to the new Democrat.

When you have spent years trying to emphasise that somebodies old age means they are unable to govern then if you are also old (but just a little younger than the person you were attacking) then your words can come back to haunt you. In surveys many Americans were already concerned they only had two old people to chose from. Now they have an alternative and that alternative is almost 20 years younger. Even Farage when asked about Trump said he was as sharp as ever almost saying he is better than that other old guy. Now Trumps rants will look just like the old man on the street corner who screams about everything or your old granddad who can't understand the modern world.

I don't think it's going to happen. None of the other names floated in this story as likely challengers have expressed any public interest in taking Harris on, and no one wants to be the person who caused Trump to get elected a second time.
It has been done before and it was chaos. The candidates all argued over eligibility and who's delegates were legal which was not resolved for ages after the conference and by the time they have an actual candidate they were already too far behind in the electioneering.

I do agree with her comment that it would be best if Harris is going to be the nominee that there should be a contest and she should earn it The problem there is that Harris got zero delegates when she tried to run in 2020 She just isn't popular and the Democrats have other options that have been more visible I also agree that the Republicans are going to try to bury her under the southern border and immigration
Harris isn't the default choice, it will be an open convention at this point. Though I think she has enough support to get the 1900 delegates or so she needs at the convention.

Former Astronaut and current Arizona senator Mark Kelly is another possible candidate, if Newsome and Whitmer refuse. Trump is terrified of all of those options.

I think that is the most incredible aspect of this whole saga that's routinely ignored by he mainstream media. The Democrats had Primaries. Then decide to have this suspiciously timed and unnecessary debate, before realising that Biden is not up to it so has to be replaced because the Donors aren't happy.
