I wonder if Vance doesn’t provide “Trumpism” - no one can as yet define it - with intellectual heft & cogency. Trump is instinctual but a political philosophy can’t spread on instinct. Vance provides the apologia for a transformative movement. Of course, he doesn’t have to be veep to provide that.
