@@BigMoPrepper I've read the court decision three times, trying to get an understanding of the legal background and legal reference to their decision. The court essentially made up new standards to determine what can fall under immunity, standards that are not in the US constitution, and greatly benefit the Republican candidate. Many constitutional scholars are still wondering what happened with the Supreme Court this term.

It does not matter the justices said, if the requested investigations were based on sham allegations or based on an improper purpose. At the end of the day, the court said, “the President cannot be prosecuted for conducted within his exclusive constitutional authority” This ruling now serves as a precedence for all future Presidents to safeguard their power.

@@holden6104I don’t think they should be. If someone is going to to something unlawful (like a killing without a trial as an example) it NEEDS to be agreed upon, not for one person to decide and just do.

If presidents are allowed to break the law as part of an official act, then that act must be officially recorded by witnesses and admitted to, by that president. Basically, they will have to admit to the crime before it can be judged to be official.

America founded on no one is king and no one not even the president is above the law now has a king above the law. Picking elector's is a presidential act. Bribing zelensky was part of trump doing his best for the presidency. Trump believed biden was dangerous and so needs to stay king and cancel elections. I mean come on. For 300 years the president wasn't able to do illegal things and government was fine. Now supreme court decided after all a president is king and is above law.
