Former President Donald Trump has unveiled a plan to eliminate federal incomes taxes on overtime pay. He made the idea public during a Thursday speech in Tucson, Arizona. Here's Trump making the announcement, followed by Blake Burman of The Hill.

A game changer? It will ultimately end in the loss of your Social Security Medicare and Medicaid. Then maybe cuts to the VA. Look at the countries with the lowest tax rates, they are almost always countries you either cannot or would not want to live in.

A couple of months back. I worked about 60 hours in 1 week. My gross check was like $1,600, so that means I had 20 hours of overtime. After taxes, my check was just a tiny bit over $1,100. They took $500 in taxes from one check. I pretty much worked those twenty hours for free. On my check stub, the amount they took was basically all of my overtime money. So. All I got paid was my regular hours. That is highway robbery. It is ridiculous!

What you're taxed reconciles when you file your taxes by April 15th each year. OT pay is only paid at a different rate (1.5x), but does not get taxed differently. You should get smart on this.
