Donald Trump has compared being grazed in the ear by a bullet to being attacked by the “world’s largest mosquito” in a leaked call to his presidential rival, Robert F Kennedy.
Mr Kennedy’s campaign press secretary Stefanie Spear confirmed the two men spoke on Monday “to discuss national unity”.
In leaked footage of the phone call, Trump told the independent candidate for president that he was shot by “a pretty tough gun”.
It followed an attempt on the former president’s life at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday which left him with a bloody ear and killed a spectator.
In an apparent reference to Joe Biden, Trump told Mr Kennedy the president “was very nice” to him on a phone call after the shooting.

Sounded like a very frank and “normal” chat…BTW, the AR-15 isn’t a “big” gun, in comparison to a hunting rifle …the bullet is less than 1/4” in diameter and weighs maybe 62 grains. There are 7000 grains in a pound, about 438 grains in an ounce, so 1/7th of an ounce. But its small size doesn’t make it ineffective, just the way it is used…
