Lets look past the US' role in the war in Ukraine to begin with and get to the core: The US spending and military presence abroad is about American influence and power and has nothing to do with helping Europe or anyone else. This is kindergarden knowledge, and anyone thinking otherwise is beyond naive. The US is not "helping" Europe against Russia. You could easily argue that this, in part at least, is actually the US' mess. And since many European countries sent their soldiers to die in the US' wars the last 20 years, then these vote fishing statements are very disrespectful if not disgusting. If America wants to isolate itself then that's completely up to the Americans, but in that case China, Russia, India and others will take over the influence and power the US previously had in the world

I don't think his numbers of aid are correct at all. My understanding is aid is roughly equal between Europe and the US at this point. Most of what the US is giving is old military equipment (cluster shells, Bradleys) that are due to be destroyed/replaced. Europe is giving more cash.

When you add up the military+humanitarian+money aid given to Ukraine, EU and all the countries together excedes the US aid. While USA has given the most military aid, Eu has given more in money. But like Nuland said recently, all the aid money goes to USA military contractors.

The numbers Trump is talking about are simply not true. Look it up lol. EU has spent more on Ukraine than the US. The US has spent more in terms of military yes thats true but total spending incuding financial and humanitarian aid the EU is up like $20 billion.

It's crazy to think that this guy can say that he'll stop the war in Ukraine in 24h and his supporters still believe him.

This answer is like the kid that just repeats the same thing 3 times to meet the word quota on a report. And he said nothing. "Europe doesn't pay their fair share and Russia is a war machine." Doesn't answer the question of how would you stop Putin from doing what he did. All I hear from Trump is basically do whatever Putin wants as long as the war ends. Appeasement has worked out so well in the past.🙄

This is how I see things happening. The USA and some other countries give billions in aid to Ukraine. In turn Ukraine buy weapons off of military companies predominantly in the USA but a few other countries too. So aid money is going back into the states. Now this war with its stalemate is going to go on for years. And as Russia has moved away from the petrodollar I can see Russia getting much stronger. This war has to stop like the Israeli one. But without wars, the military companies don’t make much money.

0:10 i voted for trump both times, so I agree. However, keep in mind in the US alone we spent $32 Billion (yes, a B) on cell phone cases and screens last year (smh). Cosmetics? $105 B in us only, globally its half a trillion$. That doesnt inlcude visits to salons, hair care, nor lip balm. We can go on and on, but I mention this so we keep some perspective. For every $1.00 we spend on our military we give Ukraine 3 cents. Just food for thought.

Theres a huge mess to be cleaned up. If Trump is re elected it will be a very different 4 year term, not to say it will be bad.

"They got to start paying up".... I think one should also look at the size of the countries. I am Estonian. We have 1.3 million people. In proportion, we are definitely in the top of the world in our help for Ukraine. We have given a home to 200 000 refugees which in numbers is a fifth !!!!!! of our entire population. We are buying ammunition for Ukraine and weapons and tanks, for such crazy amounts of money that our own cost of living has skyrocketed. It used to be 5 euros one had to pay to visit a doctor. Now it will be 20 euros. Hospital days start to cost twice they do today. We are getting rid of unemployment benefit. What we are doing is basically increasing an average Estonian's monthly cost 4 times or even more. And then someone like Trump is saying that we have to "start paying up". Really? Also, we are a country with almost no natural resources. We have no oil, no diamonds .... We have been independent for 30 years. Which means that we have so much of our own stuff to deal with. Countries who have a long period of peace and stability, enough resources etc would be expected to do more. That is unless we give in to Russia with everything that that means. And we as their unfortunate neighbours know all too well what that means if Russia is let to roam as it wishes. I really wonder how would Trump "end the war" in a day or sth like that? What would be the plan? Just out of curiosity ...... By signing some sort of a pact and giving Ukraine to Russia? This reminds me of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact in 1939. No! Sometimes there has to be a war. We, a country of 1,3 million, won our independence war with Soviet Russia in 1920. Finns (also a tiny country) won their Winter War. So: RUSSIA CAN BE WON. It is not impossible.
