Trumpeter 1/72 scale T-34/85 

Trumpeter has improved immensely in past few years, so Id say you are safe with any modern kit from trumpeter/hobbyboss except for few.

I can confirm the track "excitement" with plastic glue. I found super glue worked really well however. Glue the tracks together, let them dry and carefully stretch it over the wheels. to easy. I really like the idea you had to stick them to the top of the road wheels and will try that next.

In Soviet Russia, we mount explosive barrels on the side of our tanks to be used in combat.

I have a trumpeter m4a3 and I let my tracks set overnight and it bonded perfect.

Just a tip - I'm currently putting together a 1/35 Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf.D. The molds for it where made in the 70's.. So yeah - there have been some serious trials with fit and accuracy. The thing I was wanting to point out was the gap between lower and upper hulls, my tank had this. BAD. The best way I've found to deal with it is to use plasticard. Cut out an insert in some relatively thin plasticard - it has to be thick enough to stand up to sanding, but thin enough to not give you more fitting headaches, then fill and smooth with modelling putty - then the usual sanding until flush and smooth. Whilst it's not too big a deal on the model you've been working on, it's something to keep in mind for future ones maybe if it's going to be visible.

I just saw some Trumpeter models the other day for the first time. After seeing this vid, I'm definitely keeping them in mind.I recommend Tamiya's M2 Bradley. That is, if you like interior detail and modern stuff. It's pretty cool though.Awesome build btw! I love what you did with making the tracks actually look like gravity is affecting them. I'm with you, I don't like rubber tracks.

i love trumpeter good models you should build the tiger 1 early prod it's quite a good model and represents a tiger tank very well

Trumpeters M1 Abrams in various versions are okay (but with rubbery tracks). They can be perfected with some photo etch or home built parts.

I have recently Bulit the Trumpeter 1/72 Jagdtiger and one tip for the rubber tracks is that I stapled the tracks and painting it with the same color as the tracks to cover it. ;)

You could use security wire for the tow cable.It's a close match for the scale.

Herbert, I just checked the figures but I'm not a know-it-all. I also kinda suck at math but here goes. A quick Google search revealed that, according to the 'Tank Encyclopedia' the 1944 T-34/85 had the following dimensions: L(+gun)= 8.15m, L(chassis)=5.12m, W=3.0m, H=2.6m. Both kits seem to have been measuring by chassis+gun dimensions so I went with that alone and got this; 1/48th scale direct: L(+gun)= 169.79mm, L(-gun)= 106.66mm, W= 62.5mm, H= 54.1mm 1/72nd scale direct: L(+gun)= 113.19mm, L(-gun)= 71.11mm, W=41.66mm, H= 36.11mm If you allow for a little fudging for the rear fuel tanks or mastering (ie carving/creating) originals, that means BOTH kits are actually closest to 1/48th scale. Please, check yourself (any viewers too btw) and tell me if something is wrong with my conversions. One thing I'm pretty sure of is that the same model vehicle in 2 purportedly different scales cannot have the same dimensions. Love to hear back on what you find when you put them side by side, if you still can, or someone else who reads this and happens to have both kits. maybe you should give Trumpeter a call??

with the tracks you can heat a screwdriver to melt the tracks together and the look decent and don't come apart.

I built a 1/72 Jagdpanther by trumpeter once, i like it a lot! this T-34 looks good in my opinion. too bad about the handrails though.. Also, Will you do more 1/72 in the future.. if the anwser is yes, i suggest checking out Revell tanks.. most of the 1/72 ones (for example the Tiger) have plastic tracks which are tricky but look nice!

Built many Trumpeter kits, all in 1/35 and all modern subjects. Their older kits can suffer from flash and some ill-fitting, but their newer stuff is very very nice. Check my channel and you will see some built ones around there. Cheers.

Just built the same model and had the same problems. Its a good model for its price though.

I was thinking about getting the Trumpeter Tiger I. I do quite like Trumpeter except sometimes the production quality of the parts can be a bit worrying. I got the 1/35 US Marines in Iraq 2003 by Trumpeter and the plastic was so hard that it snapped the blade on my Xacto knife.

Concerning from the box art, the decals, the rectangular mudguards and the chinese manufacturer of this kit I think this is an chinese T-34/85 post war production vehicle. Well... or a vehicle used in the korean war so it is no post war vehicle... wars are complicated...

Looks like a badly copied t-34/85 by Revell. Parts are almost exactly same, just quality is worse. Nice video :)

No offense meant by this, but you speak VERY fast and with no pauses. Just something you could think about in the future. It makes it sound like you're kind of "babbling along".
