In other words it's ironic the way trunks finished 17, because he avenged both Gohan and his father by destroying 17 the way he did in Kakarot dlc. It's like a taste of your medicine 17. I really hope both Vegeta and Gohan were able to see how Trunks finished off 17.

That would have been cool but I feel like that'd be too much in a way. I think just having Future Gohan's memory overlapping with Trunks is a better, more subtle way of aknowledging it without beating you over the head with it.

I wished they did the same in the anime. That was a real tear jerker moment. It would have made Trunkses victory a lot more satisfying with Gohan having the kid’s back in spirit.

Future Trunks never really has been one for playing with his opponents. He played with Frieza a little bit but that was mainly because he knew he was eons above Frieza in strength and there wasn’t much of a threat. 17 & 18 tortured Trunks his entire life and killed all of his friends and his father, he probably just went into PTSD/vengeance mode and playing around with them was the last thing on his mind. He just craved peace.

He learned from the past and didn't want to pull a Vegeta

As long as he killed one android then semi perfect cell would be easily handled

Idk future Trunks has never been the sadistic type, he's had arguably one of the shittiest lives of all the z warriors and maybe that's the reason for his humble attitude. He's my favorite because when Toriyama isn't shitting on him he just gets things done lol

Because it's a whole new story arc, not just some let's get stronger dlc with a new transformation

It was literally new everything, new story, new dialogue, new moves, new areas, new cutscenes, etc. Development for a game's dlc takes a LONG time, you can't expect game developers to just dish it out every week or so.
