I see Future Androids 17 and 18, as delinquents who were given immense power, but little responsibility. So to satisfy their boredom, they literally kill people for fun. It’s like playing GTA but in real life. In essence, everything they do is just a game to them, they have no ultimate objectives, they just want to have fun, but in a twisted way. But in the main timeline, they are much different due to several factors. When they were activated, they were literally bored and had nothing else to do. But when they activated Android 16, they had something fun to do, since 16 wanted to kill Goku. 17 even admitted that finding Goku was just a game to them. Also the threat of Cell was another factor. As Cell demonstrated that there are threats much bigger than they are, and they experienced what it feels to be powerless against such threat.
Crazy how you say that haha because Android 17 and 18 are the reason why cell was created actually. Toriyama's I guess boss thought also of them as bratty delinquent children and wasn't sinister enough for the ARC. But Toriyama's first intention was to have 20 and 19 be the primary villains of the ARC.

In the manga, Android 17 actually killed that old man in the rubble, but they kept them alive in the anime. Don’t know why, but I’m glad they did that. But yeah, this episode was pure satisfaction and serotonin. 6:19 #THISISFORGOHAN!!!! Also have you noticed he only used one hand to literally single-handedly defeat the androids? I don’t know if that was intentional, but a great nod to future Gohan.
Trunck is a young man who has no pity for the weak, he completely destroyed freezer and his father, today he destroys C18 and C17 as well as the other insect cell 1st form! 😈
@@Kevinhendo that’s true but we also going to have to factor into his future not changing because goku is technically yes alive in present day but not in his future.
Timelines are easy to understand, just look at it this way: - Everytime someone travels in time, it goes to a different timeline other than their own, and whatever they do in that timeline, it doesn't affect the one they came from; - Future Trunks came from Timeline 1, where the Z warriors were defeated, the androids were alive, and Cell as about to be "born"; - Future Cell came from timeline 2, where the Z warriors were defeated, the androids were killed by Trunks "2", after he traveled to another timeline's past (let's call it timeline 3) and helped the Z warriors defeat the androids, but where Cell never appeared. This Trunks was killed by Cell because he didn't know about his existence and was caught by surprise. The timeline we're watching (let's call it timeline 4) received the visit from Future Trunks from timeline 1 and Future Cell from timeline 2, hence why there were 2 time machines.
This is one of the most satisfying episodes. It's so deserved. Trunks could have EASILY beaten second form Cell, the Androids and first form Cell are literally nothing for him. Trunks didnt even have to go into the "Super Trunks" buff state to beat them.
One of the most overlooked thing about Future Trunks is his relationship with Yamcha. This man had no grudge against him and uplifted him when he needed it the most.
That's why Mirai Trunks is the best. No time to waste, just butt kicking. My favourite character of the show with Piccolo. And this is the end of Cell Saga😢
@Mike & Alexis Alright, time for a *complete timeline breakdown* for you guys! I know this is a long read, but it’s worth it I promise! It will (hopefully) make this time travel stuff more clear! Let’s break down the timelines first (the numbering of timelines is done purely for you to understand and follow easier, not the order of the timelines): 1. First, the timelines we know personally. Our Future Trunks’ future ( *Timeline 1* ) is destroyed by the androids, so he goes back to *our* present timeline ( *Timeline 2* ) to seek help for his timeline and to also to save that past timeline from any destruction. In our timeline, Timeline 2, the andoirds were a threat at first, but soon Cell also appears to the mix, and makes a turn in the events, which leads up to people training in the HTC, Cell games and in the end, Trunks killing the androids AND Cell of his future timeline (Timeline 1) because he had become so much stronger. 2. There is a similar pair of timelines that are already further in time and events (these two basically happened first): another future timeline our Cell is from ( *Timeline 3* aka ”the original timeline”) where everything was identically destroyed by the androids, and from which Trunks travelled to an alternative past timeline ( *Timeline 4,* so called ”unseen timeline”) to seek help. But something different happened in this pair of timelines because we know that after Trunks went back home to this Timeline 3 and destroyed the androids there somehow, Cell was able to kill that Trunks, steal his time machine and go further into the past, creating Timeline 2, our present timeline, in which he becomes the main villain in this arc. But we see in this episode, how easily Trunks deals with Cell when this same scenario happened, so how is this possible? The key difference between these timeline pairs is Cell and his appearance in the past in our timeline. When Future Trunks from Timeline 3 went to the alternate past (Timeline 4), Timeline 3’s Cell (again, the one that hosted the Cell Games in the end) was still growing in Dr. Gero’s lab. Because there was no threat of Cell in this alternative past, Timeline 4, and the whole Android threat could be solved with the Remote Control to shut them down (unlike in our timeline where the remote control plan would have still left the powerful Cell), there was likely much heavier emphasis on the Remote Contol Plan as compared to our timeline. Also the moment of executing the plan of shutting them down would not have been the same; remember how #18 was vulnerable while hiding from the even bigger threat Cell, which led to Krillin destroying the Remote. This in turn affected the fact that the Z fighters most likely never trained in the HTC in this timeline (during these events at least), and beat the androids by deactivating them, instead of overpowering them. Then the alternate Future Trunks took that Remote back to his future, to Timeline 3, and beat his androids *with the remote* as well. In this scenario, Trunks is still just a regular SSJ, which means that a Powered up 1st form Cell would be stronger, and is able to ambush Trunks and kill him, steal his time machine and go to the past. We see in this episode how easily our Future Trunks, with his current power after the training, is able to handle the same ambush attempt by Cell, so there is no way the Trunks who Cell killed, had trained in the HTC to become stronger. In other words, our Trunks’ timeline (Timeline 1) is the exact same as Cell’s (Timeline 3), just not as far in the future. The two timelines were one and the same, up until Trunks comes back after the Cell games and kills the androids by actually overpowering and destroying them. The timelines separated because Trunks himself had changed so much in our time, compared to the Trunks that travelled to the unseen past timeline (Timeline 4), and thus was strong enough to actually kill the Androids and Cell by himself, instead of resorting to the remote control to take care of the Androids and then dying to Cell. Effectively he changed his timeline’s (Timeline 1) future by doing that, and that is when Trunks’ timeline actually separates from Cell’s TL;TR ->original timeline is Destroyed by Androids ->Trunks goes back in time to alternate past timeline ->in this past timeline, no Cell and thus the remote is used to deactivate the androids ->Trunks goes back to his future to deactivate the Androids of his world ->Trunks (who has not been training in the HTC) is attacked by Cell and killed, and Cell steals the time machine ->Cell goes to the past even further than Trunks originally did, creating a new timeline, our DBZ timeline ->Our Future Trunks travels to the past, but lands on the timeline Cell’s arrival created ->DBZ Android/Cell arc as we know it
Couldn't have asked for a more perfect conclusion to this entire arc. Both timelines saved, and some heroes maybe gone but not forgotten. Also, Trunks paying respects to Vegeta, Gohan and Goku was a nice touch.
One thing i would say unlike Vegeta letting people power up due to his pride and ego, Trunks (since he's hybrid) doesn't give his enemies a chance to reach their maximums considering the whole lifes of other ate at stake. Trunks character was well thought out.
He didn't want to give enemies a chance because he lived through the horror of running and hiding for so many years, unable to protect innocent people and those he loved.
This is why The World Love "Trunks" he immediately got the job done without hesitation. I mean he gave them a little taste of his skills before sending all 3 of them to their death
I worried how things would have went if Trunks would have went to planet Namek in his time line and was able to use the dragon ball wish all those back that had pass

Trunks ending is the most satisfying ending of Dragon Ball Z. He cleaned up everything like a vacuum cleaner. This is what I call “Revenge served as a delicious hot dinner cooked by a sweet and beautiful wife”.
This furthers the multi-verse theory, because even after the androids were destroyed, it did not undo any other damage that was already done them in their time. (Plus they are still alive)
Most satisfying episode the build up was so good and to see Trunks kill the androids with no effort is so dope but also holds so much weight to Trunks character and how he is just wants to defeat the enemy no honor bs like Vegeta and Goku.

Remember, Future Gohan's last word's someone stronger will take my place, not one death will go uncounted for NOT ONE!!!!! I think the only thing that would make this more epic is having the Androids see Future Gohan's sprite hunting them. The last thing they see before they died. Trunks once again proves why he's one of the best made short work got revenge within seconds wasted no time. This is For Gohan!!!!!! Sad part is Future Trunks doesn't return missed opportunity. 🔥🔥🔥
9:20 To answer your question, Future Trunk's timeline was the original DBZ timeline. It's now a universe without Trunks, Cell, the Androids, or Z fighters, and only Bulma and the survivors of Cell and the Androids remain there, AFAIK. Thanks to Trunks travelling to the past, a world was split off where Goku's story now takes place. We are left with 4 timelines: 1) Trunk's Future (original timeline) 2) the past where Trunks saves the Z fighters and the world from the Androids before returning (1) to die at Cell's hands (we learn this from Perfect Cell's monologue to Trunks during their battle) 3) a second version of the past where Cell arrives in which most of the Cell Saga occurs 4) Trunk's new future timeline, which split off from the original as of this point in the story: the point where he kills future Cell instead of being killed by future Cell.

I think the Androids should've got far worse for all the children they killed. At the same time he might've learned has lesson from Gohan so I understand why he killed them so quickly.

I think the cell that everyone fought it’s from another timeline when trunks must of use a remote control on the androids that must explain why he was killed by cell and wasn’t strong enough to beat him in that world and went to the prime timeline universe and changed it that explains why some of the events change also it’s wasn’t trunks fault it was that cell’s fault why the different androids come and goku heart virus came late.
I think the real question that nobody thinks about is how did Imperfect cell kill trunks after he was strong enough to kill the androids? Was he piccolo kami strength or something but that's not a level like you got super Saiyan witch is not enough to be the androids and you got semi super Saiyan 2 witch is stronger than cells 2nd form but trunks got killed by the first ?????? Somebody make it make sense
Trunks was caught off guard. Z Fighters can be caught off guard by a weaker opponent and potentially be killed. It was quite controversial during the Freeza Resurrection Movie.
Couldn't future trunks and bulma just go to namek again and wish for goku and the rest to the z fighter's back to life? And its crazy how cell in the present time-line came from another timeline where he kills trunks
Goku died of natural causes and porunga could bring him back if he chooses to but it’s not a guarantee. Porunga can choose to bring someone back as many times as he sees fit but he’s limited to the power of the namekian that crafted his dragon balls. Also the new namek the namekians inhabit isn’t in the same star system the old one is in hence goku had a problem finding it when he was trying to use instant transmission to zoom to their planet in the cell arch. Bulma and trunks would have no idea where to begin looking for it in their timeline.
