ON another journey up to our off grid property we go ahead with our tough choice to go forward with getting more of the roof finished before snow comes. Watch as we get down to business building walls and lifting trusses.
Join us as we, a family of 4 take you along our journey of buying bare land and converting it into a sustainable homestead. We show you the ups and downs of building our custom 3700 sqft house along with clearing 100 acres of land to convert into pasture for our livestock. All while living 250 kms away and maintaining a welding/fabrication business and small 31 acre hobby farm in the outskirts of town.

I enjoy watching your videos so much. Your problem solving skills are what my Grandpa called "master farmer fabricator." Hard work and common sense.

You guys are amazing. Not very many couples would take on a project like this.

You’re right. Georgia just seems to go along with whatever crazy idea I have

Very Brave. Once you start construction there is no turning back. Don't stop.

Putting in that temporary floor was a good call. Trusses are a bear even with a crew. You 2 were amazing. Some people say a board like that piece of plywood at the peak gives you a false sense of security and is worse than just walking the trusses.

Yes they were a bit tricky in the beginning but once we figure out the routine they started getting easier.
