This video up to the RANCH Chris finally maybe gets to walk away with feeling a bit more accomplishment after all his hard work not paying off in our last video with all our equipment continuing to fail. We continue to shifts our gears to working the land to have pasture grow in over the warmer months. Watch as we have trile and error without having every little piece of machinery to get the job done!
Join us as we, a family of 4 take you along our journey of buying bare land and converting it into a sustainable homestead. We show you the ups and downs of building our custom 3700 sqft house along with clearing 100 acres of land to convert into pasture for our livestock. All while living 250 kms away and maintaining a welding/fabrication business and small 31 acre hobby farm in the outskirts of town.

If I might make a suggestion. I've used a 3 pt landscape rake on the back of my tractor to make "windrows" and then use the bucket on my tractor and scoop up the rows of rocks and debris. Has work very well for me in some rough country here in central Texas. Also helps smooth out the ground.

Great idea! I’ll take a look at finding one of those.

Hi. all is good Chris & Georgia. You will always have rocks, you are not making a golf course, I was just on 160 acres of freshly seeded Carolla picking up rocks as I was chasing gophers. They just keep coming up. Cheers, wish you well and luck.

Yes this is true. I suppose because the soul is exposed and not covered with grass that it makes it seem like they shouldn’t be there.

This link is to Lumnah Acres video about them losing 1 of their highland bulls. It got spooked then broke through the fence. In the dark it fell down into a small ravine breaking it's neck. Have you had any issues with your cattle and precautions taken?

Hi Robert. Yes I have watched that video from lumnah acres. Very unfortunate. But no we haven’t had any issues like that, they have been spooked before but they know their terrain and haven’t had a problem.
