Since Aretha Franklin's passing, shocking recent revelations have come out about her relationship with her father, C.L Franklin. These refer to her son Clarence Franklin.
So many many fathers did this especially back in those days where the mother died leaving the young children, or in this case the mother left. It is a reality. Very sad.
I don't blame Aretha for that and we shouldn't be judged for that child a secret that she had to keep her daddy was a hoe and Aretha was traumatized but God blessed her with his voice and she was great I don't blame her she was a child and that's why God kept her blessed her all these years and you should not judge her either
Mr. Franklin was ok with his own cheating but when his wife did it, he couldn"t handle it. These type of men are hypocrites. Blaming women for everything is prevalent in the church even by women.

As much as i hate speaking ill of the dead, the fact😢 that CLF was alleged to have impregnated a 14 year old in his congregation did great damage to his credibility. Maybe he was the father of AF's child. I don't know, but his conduct made him look guilty. 😮

He looks soo much like her father, more than all of the siblings and grandchildren. I believe if you could have sex and impregnate a teenager aretha's age he could do the same to his daughter. Her dad was not what he presented to the world, I believe he was more like Ciley's father from the Color Purple. This may explain why her sister Carolyn didnt like men and preferred women.
I grew up two blocks away from her father's house LaSalle and lothrop. In the 70s and 80s my uncle used to run numbers with Cl Franklin and he has stories I cannot even mention. What year coming up with it's only half of their family

She had two kids with her Dad. i own the book about Aretha & it explains everything. And this book is shocking & riveting. It is explosive. The author wasn’t sued to my knowledge. It’s a “must read” novel.
Aretha wanted to leave no stone unturned in her movie. I imagine she was tired of carrying all the secrets and rumors about her life. She wanted the truth revealed, but only after she left this earth.

I think the first child was her father's. He already impregnated another 12 year old. When Aretha dies she reveals the identity of the father of the second child she had at 15. That was the young school kid. She named her second son after his dad and the first son after his dad.
