You can see that they actively choose nice matches for people just from watching this video. They gave Eugene a dog with special needs, Zach a dog who was smart enough to be trained in fifteen(?) minutes, Keith a ham who could do a comedy routine, and Ned -- the guy who's scared of dogs -- a small, well behaved senior who was just content to follow and wasn't at all pushy.
ATTENTION EDITOR: whoever decided to pause for paloma before throwing "still available" up on the screen should be billed for the therapy that i now require. I haven't had that much build up to a traumatic whiplash of disappointment since my childhood ended.
Right! I seriously sat here debating if I should make a trip to LA. But I’m in Oklahoma. I really hope he and the others are adopted now that this video is out. ❤️
Yes!! I'm so down to see the cat shelter, but also seeing more of the human's help center and co. That might inspire people to volunteer. I would love to see also the more difficult side to rescues and shelters, because the video seemed to show only how nice they have it in there, but really, most of these dogs (and cats and other animals in shelters) came in traumatized by their past and might have abandonnent issues and other issues, and many are physically hurt and need treatments temporarily or for ever, and many don't make it to the shelters.... I know it would be a heavy video to watch and it's not much their style, but that's how shelters and rescues are. And it's worst in those who euthanize.... I would have loved to see more of that not so cute and nice side of the rescue center. Even if it's not as heavy as I mentioned.
I know he's being super secretive about the project, so I can't help coming up with theories about what he's working on...New season of drag race? A big book deal? My best theory is that I think he's working on the same movie project Kelsey Darraugh is working on...she doesn't give too much details on it but she did mention she was a writer and she's working on it with a few friends.
@@sunnyk948 i don’t know if you know about this. but back in june, the try guys posted on a twitter about eugene being part of a youtube original called, “Recipe For Change.” along with other API celebrities and activists.
Watching the like count rise every 30 seconds I reload the comments is the most satisfying thing. By the time this video ends it'll be at 900 at least and I began watching at 650 Update: At this rate im gonna need a new estimate of 1.3K
Lol apparently he doesn’t scold his dogs . Whenever they do something bad Matt is the one who disciplines and Eugene babies them . So I’m not surprised that he doesn’t mind 😂😂
HOW COULD ANYONE BE MAD AT THAT SWEETIE? she is seriously precious, she looked so gorgeous in the bath and she looked like she KNEW she was gorgeous too.
Mines not as bad, but I was watching my friends dog and the second she dropped the doggy off she sits on my favorite bed pillow and pees 😂 A little annoyed but I just stared and watched knowing there was nothing I could do at that point and bought a new pillow lol
@@gracyb5419 He got his dog to try and help get over his fear. He does mention in the video that, while he's not afraid of Beans, his underlying fear is still there because he doesn't know these dogs.
The pain on Keith’s face was so real when he didn’t think he got a good picture of Pedro. You could tell how emotionally invested he was in trying to help these dogs and it was so sweet
It shows how much of a good dog owner he is. And doesn't just blame the dog for bad behaviour, actually patiently works with them to work on it. I know so many people with "bad" dogs but have never done any training or got them training
I have a Kerry Blue Terrier which are known to be dog aggressive and runners. We got him when he was 4 so we didn’t get to train him when he was a puppy which is recommended. We have had him for 3 years and have been trying to train him to stop running away and teach him to nice to dogs. And it’s HARD. Props to Zach for teaching him in one day ☺️
I love how he just immediately started working with Zach too. So many pups end up at shelters because people just won't take the time to work with them. My very first rescue had been in 9 homes before he was 3 years old. People would see him and go "OMG! He looks like Scooby" and they would adopt him because he was cute, then return him because they couldn't be bothered to work with him. I walked into the shelter to see him being dragged back into his kennel by an extremely overwhelmed family that just couldn't handle his energy level (All he did was run, jump and scream in fahrenheit). I took him out, worked with him for about 45 minutes just walking around the shelter building. Brought him back in and announced I was taking him home. The worker at the counter just stared at me for a minute, said "Are you sure?" to which I said "Scrappy sit." and he stopped rampaging around me and sat. They actually scrambled to get the paperwork together for him. I was privileged to have him as my best friend for 17 years. He just passed away last summer at the age of 23.
You can't blame the child for overreacting. Dog was too excited and thrilled to see friends. My friend has a chihuahua and this little dog loves to pee a little bit when she sees someone pleasant for her. It's just impossible to be mad at happiness.
One: I feel like you can tell Eugene is the real dog guy, because he's the one who got the closest with the pibbles, and he's the one who walked the deaf pitty. I would looove to adopt Pupusa (short and stocky are my faave) but I am on the opposite end of the country. Plleease someone take that sweet pee baby home
I’ve done this with my cat. He was really old but insisted on following me around the 5 acre block, the walk down would be fine and then the walk up he’d just lay at my feet until I picked him up haha
@@fiachrabarry9341 I think they're back already, the insta stories were so cute! Keith's mustache which reminds me of the racing series they did for buzzfeed, the millions of cats, Keith and David helping Matt down the stairs, Keith's saltiness in the comments because nobody was posting pictures with him one day, Becky slipping up and tagging David and Matt 2 times instead of Keith when she posted her "3 boyfriends" literally the day after Keith's meltdown, the dancing tiktok they made sharing the same shorts, Matt posting an edited pic to say he was thinking about Eugene 😊❤ and of course all the beautiful pictures of Greece!
new clause: there must be at least three office dogs. We have the space. I will take care of them and there will be a volunteer signup sheet for the weekends.
nee it would go like that: Eugene: "Matt what would you do if I came home with 6 more puppies" Matt: "What is in the box Eugene" Eugene: "I think you know"
My heart breaks when seeing that none of the pitties were adopted yet. They are such good pups who get a bad rap. I volunteered in rescue for three years and they are consistently the staff favorites because they are so cuddly and loving.
I know! Pits get super misunderstood because either how much they are use for dog fights, how many people got attacked by them, or how scary they look when truly aggressive. Pits are the biggest babies you will ever meet and want to be all over you! They give so much love and are loyal to you. Pits have a bad rep because of bad environments by the owners. The sad thing about pure breed pits is that they do have some health issues so most people get a mix breed of pits as mix do live longer than pure breeds.
I rescued a dog last year. He's a chihuahua mix but came in with a pit mix. I wanted to get both so bad but my apartment is too small for such a big dog 😭
I rescued a pit from going to a shelter for this reason. She's an older dog and would have likely seen her last days in the shelter if that had happened. It really breaks my heart to see so many pitties in shelters around the world!
I rescued and fostered a pittie/sharpei mix and fostered him for two two weeks and he was one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. Took him to my local vet (which surprised her since I usually brought in cats) and she and all the techs fell in love instantly. He got adopted by my friend and he’s a very loved, very happy pup. Became best friends with her Great Dane
I had no clue this even happened!!! I just got home an hour ago from volunteering at wags and walks! I love it so much and try to volunteer atleast 4 hours a week. I really do advise it. Can’t believe this happened this is the exact wags and walks I volunteer at!❤️ I’m so glad they are using their channel to promote this! Paloma is my fav (the litttle chihuahua) she recently got in a foster home!
Has Paloma been adopted yet? She reminded me so much of my little dog who was living at a rescue for 8 months before I was able to take him in. I just know she would make a great dog.
I think once he isn’t so career focused, in their future they will end up with more dogs. For now, they have the perfect amount, but I can totally see them in old age with like 8 dogs 😂
I literally cried every single time I saw “still available” and sobbed when she said Paloma has been there for a long time…SOMEBODY PLEASE ADOPT PALOMA AND ALL OF THESE PUPS PLEASE 😩🥺😭😭😭😭😭
This, THIS, is the content we needed. As someone who grooms dogs for a living, it seems that not a lot of people truly understand what it means to care for a dog.
I feel they should do a second part that REALLY shows the down and dirty of rescue dog care. Almost like a dirty jobs of it and how much effort truly goes into care. This feels more like a field trip. It does bring attention to it though and I'm so grateful for that!
I know Eugene's moment where he got peed on amicably is a golden one, but can we talk about how **well** Zach handled the dog walking section? He's gotten a lot more comfortable and confident around non-Bowie dogs since the last dog-related video. Great job Zach! 👏
Eugene: The dogs are the loves of my life. And Matt's there too. God I missed having him and his funny one-liners in the videos, it seems like literal ages since Eugene's been in a TG video.
love how they didn't force ned and allowed him to gather himself. kudos to Dickens tooooo for making ned comfortable the way ned takes care of him aweeee
As a shelter employee this video is perfectly timed, the rescue world is overwhelmed with abandoned and surrendered dogs right now and very low adoption numbers. If you are interested, and willing to put in the time and effort, go adopt a dog! Or if you have ever been interested in fostering reach out to your local rescue they will often provide EVERYTHING you need and all you have to do is give some time and love, even just a day out of the shelter can be amazing for dogs stuck in kennels all day
Do you have any suggestions as far as adopting? Rescues have been very hard to communicate with but I feel like I don't know anything about a shelter dog before adoption. It's kinda a catch
I'm in nonprofits and work alongside tons of shelters, this is so important! Shelters are past maximum capacity from people returning dogs rescued during covid, fostering and adopting is SO necessary right now
@@LML1415 some rescues will do a foster to adopt. That way you can spend a set amount of time with a dog and see how they do in your home before committing to adoption.
He did very well too. By the end, Zack(the dog) seemed like he was understanding the concept of walking on the leash! That will definitely help him get adopted.
I can deeply relate to Keith saying his family would just keep the dogs that showed up to his house growing up. It’s like word spreads and they all show up
Growing up, my grandparents had an old chicken farm. The hen houses still stood. When stray cars came around, we would give them live and food. Most stayed and made homes in the old hen houses. We loved those cats. When the sold the property, they had to let people come in and collect the babies. They had found over 90 cats! I still miss them all 30 years later.
Seeing Eugene be so unapologetically happy in this video gives me so much joy! I am so happy for him!! He literally got in the bath with that cute pitty and then pretended to be a dog and let the other tryguys towel dry him off for fun. SO cute!
Random but Steve-o from jackass is trying to do like an outdoor rescue ranch w his fiancé. He has a great video ab how he got his dog, should totally check it our
💙Keith: C’MON BEN! ❤️Ned: Uncomfortably tolerating animals. Adopts a character persona to cope. 💚Zach: cheating on Bowie with zach 💜Eugene: bum scratching fluffer
I'm a dog groomer and I love that they're advocating for people who might not know much about dogs to work with and interact with them for a while before they make a commitment and how they strive to find the right dog for the right family. A lot of people buy or adopt without considering different breed traits they might have to deal with or not be able to handle. This place definitely does awesome work!
Zach surprisingly is a pretty good dog trainer for someone who wasn't into dogs before Bowie or who grew up with dogs. I'm pretty impressed. He's usually such a chaos monster in these videos so seeing his patience and control with the dog was nice to see
Okay, can we talk about how wonderful Zach was with the dogs?! He did such an amazing job leash training, and he just seamed so sweet and understanding with all of the dogs. Zach you are wonderful
I'm SOBBING at the end reading "Still Available" over and over . I'm just crying in my seat screaming "Why doesn't anybody want themmmmm ?!?!?! That beautiful face !!!!!" If I didn't live so far away , I would've gotten a few 😭💙🐾
I know right! I go to boarding school but if I didn’t I would definitely be looking at my local shelter - when I go to University I will definitely be looking at options for volunteering and fostering though!
"This is a walk, not a lay" is exactly what I say to the dogs I walk! (except it's usually "this is a walk, not a sniff" since they stop at literally every bush lol.)
Keith just picking up his dog and walking him like that in the end cracked me up. And Eugene might not have adopted a dog, but all the dogs sure adopted him...
I lovethat Eugene didn't even move/jump up when Papusa peed on him. He just sat there calmly and even smiled and explained the reason why it could have happened. Not at all mad it shows how much he loves dogs. Also I was really hoping he was gonna adopt Paloma and give Emma a sister.
I'm so happy to see pitties alongside other dogs in this video! So many videos about rescue dogs just have the small fluffies and claim "you can find any breed at a shelter! It's not only pit bulls!" when it is, in fact, mostly pit bulls, who are perfect angels! At the rescue I managed, the board members usually ended up sponsoring the adoption fees of the pitties because it was easier to find them a home when the folks adopting didn't have to pay as much as they would for a shih tzu mix.
As a veterinarian who works in shelter/street medicine, this video made me smile, laugh, and also cry. Rescue can be extremely rewarding, but it is emotionally and mentally tough and sometimes very heartbreaking. Thank you so much for highlighting animal rescue and giving so much good information about homeless pets and what people can do to help. There are so many different ways to volunteer! And remember, please adopt, don’t shop!!! ❤️🐾
@@giulia6344 when the dog peed on eugene, eugene was like "its ok she [the dog] probably had to go" and then ned said "and you look like grass, so" i choked on my water lmao 😂
@@XlittleXdrummerXgirl I worked as an “adoption counselor” for seven years. It paid pennies above minimum wage and when there weren’t customers we were cleaning poop, urine, vomit, etc. Our working conditions were hazardous and filthy. For every person who thanked us for what we did, two more were upset we didn’t do more. It is physically wearing on your body. We could barely get the dogs out in time for potty breaks; getting a chance to play with an animal was a rare treat. Now, that was a shelter. things seem nicer at this cutesy-poo rescue. Good for them. Did you catch the part where they use volunteers for just about everything? Sorry to be bitter but I’ll continue to tell people not to count on making a career out of rescue.
I love what she said about dogs being individuals. So many people pick dogs solely based on how they look and then are like, surprised when the dog doesn't fit into their family/lifestyle. It's really important to pick a dog that has an energy level and personality that fits your lifestyle rather than just picking one that you find cute (trust me, you can get both!).
So close to crying at this. After 7 years of fostering, I am in the process of adopting a dog now from a rescue a few hours from me. I am so glad to see you guys spotlighting such a special volunteering opportunity, especially talking about fostering. I have loved getting to be a part of every one of foster pup's lives. I started in college because I couldn't officially adopt just yet, knowing that I'd be moving around and couldn't commit (yet) for a lifetime. Would highly recommend fostering because it's really a life-changing experience.
@@zerocraic3966 Dogs bring so much to our homes, to our hearts and to our souls. The more we invest in them (on all levels), the more we see their personality come out and shine. :)
@@Ms_Tania I’ve always loved dogs just never had one of my own, that is so sweet to hear. My 2 rescue cats saved my life by improving my mental health with their affection and playfulness. It’s hard not to wake up smiling when a little kitty is bopping your head asking to play. We don’t deserve pets they give us so much and don’t ask for anything but safety and love in return.
