TRY NOT TO SAY WOW!! (Pt. 3) Reacting to Crazy Alien Voices! 

“Someone who is actually singing!”, girl, they were all singing! I love people who find different ways to use the voice!

All of the performers did outstanding jobs, but most of all, is Tara’s entertaining reactions to the performance! Very fun and entertaining! Tara was having such fun!

All of these singers are amazing and absolute vocal beasts! The clip says Diana Ankudinova has a deep voice for a woman, while this is true I think it's important to mention that she is only 15 years old in this performance, her skills have continued to develop since. I learned how to do throat sining. Start with singing a droning note then slowly, while holding that note, move smoothly through the sounds of e-u-w-r. Key is to go slowly until you hear the overtone. Once you hear it you can get other tones by drawing your lips closer, like whistling or lifting your tongue.

Just to give you a little background on Diana Ankudinova. She was. abandoned by her biológical parents but she was adopted when she was a child. She had speech impediment and to help Diana Ankudinova her adoptive mother paid to give Diana singing lessons. She's a contralto.

in that Tim Foust clip he went down to a C0 (according to a few videos i have seen) in chest/fry mix. the lowest note produced by the human vocal cords is G-7! by tim storms and at that point you can even hear it and we need special machines to be able to say what it is.

I LOVE watching you do these types of reactions, Tara. So much fun! You're one of the first (and regular) vocal instructors that I have been following. Ha ha, Diana (The one you said sounds like she has a vocoder in her throat) fans have been begging you to review her for years. I don’t recall if you ever did her once. Maybe it was that song. I love the South African lady that came before her though, maybe if you can review her and Diana, that would be great! Not on the same day, though, lol.

I knew that that little girl was going to do a low, heavy metal growled before she did it, lol! It was so clear the music was going to be metal!

I love when you do the 'try not to' challenge, because: 1) you're able to explain these unusual ways of singing really well in an understandable way; and 2) you get progressively worse at the challenge itself.

I think I've heard that Avi Kaplan (previously with Pentatonix) can go *slightly* lower than Tim Foust - there's a clip from Pentatonix's early days where Avi blew the speaker on "Hey Momma/Hit the Road Jack" because he went so low. Avi can also do overtones. Truly a gifted singer.
