Wrist drop, also known as radial nerve palsy, is a condition that affects the ability to extend or lift the wrist and fingers. It occurs due to damage or compression of the radial nerve, which controls the muscles responsible for these movements. Wrist drop can significantly impact everyday life, making simple tasks like grasping objects, writing, and performing daily activities challenging and frustrating. The loss of wrist and finger mobility can limit one's independence and productivity, leading to difficulties in self-care and work-related tasks.
Massage therapy can play a crucial role in assisting individuals with wrist drop. Massage techniques focused on the affected area can help alleviate muscle tension, improve blood circulation, and promote relaxation. By targeting the surrounding muscles and tissues, massage therapy can relieve pain and stiffness associated with wrist drop, enhancing joint mobility and flexibility. The gentle manipulation of the affected wrist and hand can help reduce swelling and inflammation, aiding in the healing process and potentially restoring some range of motion.

I got wrist drop in my left hand 4 days ago. Not known if I will ever get the full function of my hand & wrist again. It's a living hell. I'm now doing well. I was misinformed at the emergency department. (My replies have been moved to the newest comments first.)

Absolutely wrong...in wrist drop I mean in radial nerve palsy... wrist extensors muscles will get paralyzed. It has got nothing to do with intrinsic muscles of the hand. (What ur giving massage to muscles in the palm of the hand,) how does massage will recovery the nerve injury.. absolutely wrongly treatment..

I think you are right. I got wrist drop in my left hand almost 7 weeks ago. My physio got me to do exercises and stretches and no massages. It has greatly helped almost back to normal now.
