Kinda funny timing. I have a nice etched foil Wilson and was thinking of doing something similar. I like the overall package of what you have here, with some of the mutate synergies being a real gem of Insight. The things I don't think I'm as high on is somw of your ramp choices like ornithopter of paradise and even good ramp like skyshroud. In green I'd keep it low to the ground IMO. I'd also consider cutting cards like sun Titan, privileged position and court of grace in favor of more powerful on theme effects like Stoneforge Mystic and stone hewer giant, and maybe a Bala ged recovery if you're really feeling the need for recursion. White has some of the best equipment support/interaction and maybe I missed it but don't see it. In any case, I've come to really appreciate your vids man. Keep 'em coming!
Hey! I normally opt for creature utility over spell utility which is why I probably run more mana dorks than I think an average player would. I find it just helps with blockers a bit in the pod I play in. That being said I can see ornithopter especially and skyshourd being a bit unneeded in a two color deck with access to green. Stoneforge and Stonehewer I totally agree with and is a bit of an oversight for a voltron deck with this much equipment. Both tutors are probably worth running over shalai, privileged, or court but I think privileged would be worth keeping for the protection to the equipment. Probably depends on how much removal you normally see in your pod. Glad you enjoy the videos and as always thanks for watching!
I think this works best as an enchantress build. Flaming Fist is already an enchantment, so you're drawing off it if you have any enchantress effects in play. Plus FF basically gives Wilson "infect": once he's at 11 power, and attack is lethal (commander damage). So it's not quite infect as Wilson needs to have 11 power (plus FF in play) to be a one-shot commander, but I strongly believe that enchantress Voltron is the way to go here. And the card draw you have access to is insane: all eight enchantress effects, plus Sram and Spiritdancer, plus Season of Growth, but auras like Snake Umbra.
I could totally see going that route. I personally just enjoy equipment or more permanent solutions a little more like mutate. Cards like Colossification and Eldrazi Conscription make him a one shot. Enchantments are really fun and cool way to take the deck for sure. You're right its a good way to ensure card draw too. Thanks for the suggestions! It would be an interesting way to take the deck.
