I've used watercolor paper for testing perfume and it works well! I use the thicker 140lb because that's what I've had around but I know for sure you can get a 90lb pad at target and I think that would work well too. Thicker than regular printer paper at any rate.
OMG that’s so smart. I have a mixed media sketchbook and I larger order from dossier on the way. Thanks for the tip!! I also have a sampler pack where they’re vials, sans sprayer. Considering getting a pack of the sample sized perfume sprayers via amazon to pour them all into. Just feel like I get a much better idea of a scent from a spritz than a dab…
Oh Lauren! WHAT HAVE YOU STARTED? I watched one of your fragrances videos a few weeks ago and suddenly I felt the urge to sample perfumes….and now, I sit in front of little pouches, sorting samples by seasons and reading notes on Fragrantica. I cannot stop! Your fault 😁
i’ve gotten into perfumes because of you and was very interested in hearing about the phluid project scents!! thank you for your hard work on these videos 💗💗💗
Yes the not your baby to me smells so similar to jo Malone mimosa and cardamom, I absolutely love it!! I bought the travel size used all of it, then got a full bottle and only have about 3 or 4 wears left!! Crazy!! Lol!!! Great scent Sunday!!💕💕
This video typifies what bugs me SO MUCH as a vegan consumer who only buys cruelty-free products. Fragrance is the least animal-friendly beauty product, basically none of the big houses are CF (because they're selling in China) and for whatever reason all of the overtly vegan and CF houses are also "cLeAn" which essentially means fresh, airy, basic, boring. No depth, no staying power, no dark, no dense, no sex. Whomp whomp! Just because I love animals doesn't mean I only wanna smell like cleaning products or soap!! So boring.
Have you ever thought about doing a vegan and cruelty free perfume video? You already have SOOO many (juliette has a gun, skylar, 7 virtues, sol de janeiro, phlur, pluid project, jlo, stella mccartney, ariana grande, and lots more) and I think it would be very helpful for many people!! Love this video as always 🥰
With some of these fragrances, you mentioned “this would smell nice on other people, but not me” and “I can see why other people like it, but it’s not for me.” I hope you come out with a video like that. Love from the spooky Pine Barrens in NJ
I noticed the two you really disliked had peony in it-I wonder if that’s your no. I don’t love “beach air” type fragrances so when someone says “fresh” I have to look at the notes because woods fresh I’m good, but that ocean air type fresh I’m not interested in.
I absolutely love the lightbearer lamp in the background of the video. I google lens it who yielded a result for a private vendor who tried to Scam me. The vendor advertised the same picture on Anthropologie for $77. Its a good thing I paid using PayPal who refunded me my coins. I guess the saying is true, It its too good, its some Sugar Honey Ice Tea in the game. 😂😅.
I’ve been getting into perfumes too and the discovery sets are so fun! Btw- I miss the pink hair but I’ve been loving all the hair styles you’ve been doing! The blonde suits you so much!!!
Ooooh I love that you did all 3 sets. So fun! My brother and I sampled the Penhaligon’s set and it was quite the experience so I’m curious to hear your thoughts 🧐
Have you tried the perfumes from Michelle Pfeifer's brand? I think it's called Henry Rose, a lot of them are vanilla heavy. I got the sampler pack and only liked one of them because they were all so vanilla heavy, which I don't like. Since you said that's what you gravitate to, I just thought I'd recommend.
Longtime Phlur fan so I've been super curious (and a lil sus honestly) about their rebrand!! (I still have like 4 full size bottles I'm going through from their old line.) Have sampled one or two from Abbott too, because I was looking for a moss & mint combo scent. I enjoyed The Cape but not sure I'll repurchase.
So i smelled phlur perfumes in store and honestly i just cant into them. Which makes me sad because everyone talks about about "not my baby"..... but i did like Abbott!!! I think they are inspired by places in nature.
I love scent Sunday videos and am always interested in hearing about different fragrances from various brands!! Penhaligons is a brand I’m definitely interested in and would love to see a video about that!!
I was disappointed with the Phluid Project set. Transcend was the only one I liked and the performance was among the worst I’ve ever tried. Still trying to get my hands on the Phlur set-it’s always sold out. Yes to samples!
I'm definitely tempted by sampler sets. I have a few different Sephora stores near me, but the Fashion valley one in San Diego has several of the scents I want to smell, so I'm thinking I need to go down there. Might help narrow down some choices. I'd like to get the samplers from kayali, commodity and Ellis Brooklyn.
I purchased a big bottle of Phlur mood ring and was sooo excited to get it!! I sprayed one spray and it was ok at first, but after a few minutes I had to scrub it off!!🥺 It made me nauseous!!!🤢
I am new to fragrance and have a question. When a perfume tells you what the notes are, are those ingredients literally in thr formula or are the just evocative of that note? Like when I smell By The Fireplace, I literally smell wood and fire. It’s on my wishlist!
This video is perfect, I've been eyeing all of those sampler sets and can't wait to figure out which one will best suit my style. I adore the way you describe fragrance, its infectious!
Not to double comment 😅 but have you tried Atelier Cologne? If so do you think they are similar to the Abbott samples? From your description they could be similar. I love all these fragrance videos!
I got the Phlur sample set too and I’m disappointed by most of them 😅 but apricot privée is the worstttt, I do smell the apricot in the opening, but a weird woody scent in the dry down
Apricot Privee was so medicinal to me. It was a terrible olfactory experience for me and it stayed on waaay longer than I would want a fragrance that I actively disliked to linger.
Have you seen the new Marc Jacobs fragrance? It smells like lemony cleaning product/lemon candy, but I actually enjoy it. I think it’s a nice one for summer.
