'Benne' means 'Butter' in Kannada. Well I don't know how can you guys miss Vidyarthi Bhavan, Taaza Thindi, Umesh Dosa point and Airline hotel as it also serves the best dosas.

Hi guys, Sambar at most places at Bengaluru are sweet (by addition of Jaggery) as we like our sambar to have complete balance of spice, sweetness, salt & sourness. The non sweet sambars are available too (at A2B) which is Tamil style without jaggery

I moved to Mumbai this year and been missing Bengaluru dosa a lot. Dosa used to be my breakfast lunch dinner most of the days for over 8 years. Of course benne dosa is the best. I’m loving this Bengaluru edition of TUG.

Benne means Butter. You guys had to try Vidyarthi Bhavan and Taaza Thindi. I hope you had coffee at Bengaluru Cafe. It's the best I have ever had, it's not sweet, it gives the coffee kick

Being a Bangalorean I stayed in Noida and Delhi for 2 years, somehow North Indians appreciate sambar more than chutney😄, but chutney is what makes all kind of South Indian breakfast refreshing from fresh coconut, garlic and chillies, Sambar is not a major side dish in Bangalore/Karnataka breakfasts than chutney!! It was difficult to find a fresh coconut chutney in North India and even served in very small quantities, probably due to lack of coconut trees

Vidyarthi Bhavan has the best dosa in Bengaluru. There are several other great places, but in my humble opinion, Vidyarthi Bhavan has the absolute best one! Pls also try Airlines Hotel, that’s excellent too..

INDIAN COFFEE HOUSE is most authentic place in rest of India for south indian dishes. I love ICH

I was in Bangalore for 2 years and the dosa... yum yum yummy! Yaad dila diya mausam aur dosa. Admission lene jab papa ke saath gayi thi mein we stayed there for 10 days, ghume phire and all Daily my breakfast was a dosa/ghee dosa, and my father is not a south Indian fan so he managed with poori bhaji(there they have a different flavour than what we are used to in Delhi, you can try) and sometimes dosa or other options..

How come you haven't visited the most iconic place:- "Vidhyarthi Bhavan"????? There is when you realize the true taste of Ghee dhosa and Filter Coffee.. and that comes from a North Indian who spent some amazing quality time in Blore. And then the best place for Filter coffee is Brigade road coffee house, if that is still operational.

Try the Davanagere Benne Masale Dosay in Jayanagar 4th and 9th blocks. Really awesome. Also the Khaali dosay in Dwaraka Bhavan in NR colony. Khaali Dosay with Avarebele saaru is available in Thindi Beedhi , VV puram and also in NR colony. Really awesome.

Bangaloreans dont prefer India Coffee House dosas... Coffee is really good there... Please don't miss dosas at Vidhyarthi Bhavan, Brahmins Coffee Bar, Taaza Tindi, Maiyyas and Rameshwaram Cafe... For non sweet Sambhar, please visit Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B) or Thalassery Restaurant and try their dosa... Their dosa is not crispy brown but the sambhar is great and goes well with the dosa...

To have somewhat a similar experience in Delhi , I would recommend going to Carnatic Cafe in GK 2 M block. The sweet sambhar is typical of Karnataka unlike how Tamil cuisine is. I was in Banaglore for 7 years for college and work and the breakfasts were always a delight. Delhi's breakfast scene is a bit sad comparatively. Enjoy the lovely weather !!

Bangalore dosas are the ultimate dosas. It can't be even compared with what we get in north. .........not even close.

Vidhyarthi bhavan and Taaza thindi and Cool corner, must try... Ye list me 2 shop toh Bangalore me reh rahe logo ko bhi nhi pata.. Cool corner not that famous but try it, u will find out how good they are

Kannada sambar has jaggery and the Idli batter has Chana daal as well. While in Tamil Nadu and kerala no jaggery in sambar and no chana daal in batter

Usually Bangaloreans prefer to have their dosa with chutney rather than sambar. By the way guys you missed out the legendary vidyarthi bhavan as well as janardhan hotel.

No doubt , Bangalore is Vegetarians' (wait,wait,Idli ,Dosa,Vada) lovers' paradise on earth. Once you have tasted these three( Brahma,Vishnu and Maheshwara) in Bangalore, you will be disappointed with these dishes in other cities.

Try A2B for TN style flavours which is very similar to what we get in North India. Sambhar does not contain sugar. Coconut chutney is also very good.

You should definitely visit priyadarshini. It's sambar is to die for. When I visited banglore that was my go to place for dosa vada and idli.
