Keep in mind that these were designed to be used in the worst case scenario, in combat, no place to get hot food from the mess hall.

The FRH heater works best when you kinda curl up the top of the bag and then shake the thing, so the water activates all of the chemical that causes the heat/reaction. Don't totally seal the bag though as the reaction also produces a (flammable) gas. Also, slip that heater+food being eaten into that cardboard sleeve while it's heating up, the cardboard helps contain the heat and warms the food more evenly. It usually stays hot for 10-15min, so ideally get that going first. The protein drink bag has a gusset on the bottom, so it should be able to stand up by its own / no need to dump it into that other bag. Also after you seal up the top, then tightly fold over the top of it and hold that tight and then shake the heck out of it, that will let it fully mix/dissolve properly. Some people combine the creamer and sugar together and cook it over a flame to make a "Ranger Cookie".. can check online how to do that. Check out steve1989mre for fun vids on all kinds of MREs.. maybe there's some other menu items you would be more interested in trying.

This is only one meal. The Russian MRE's are for the entire day.

I have eaten many many MREs since 1988 being a 1st infantry soldier. Sometimes there’s something good in them, but most the time it taste nasty. All I can say is they have changed a huge amount over the last 35 years. The only thing I really liked was the candy they throw inside some of them You should watch a video on how to correctly eat that .

The U.S. values it's military so food is good and up to date. Soldiers captured by Ukraine said that Russia had MRE in tanks that was from 1970's expire and not enough only about 4 days of food for all the people in tanks. So they stole from Ukraine stores to survive, the ones they didn't blow up so that Ukrainians would starve.

There are many varieties of MRE's - goulash, stews, stroganoff , etc......, breakfast. They are not illegal (during hurricanes and disasters) they are passed out to hard hit areas to get you by until utilities water, electricity is restored.

It's not dried milk it's coffee creamer and you put it in the coffee after you make the coffee the ingredients don't go in and all together and then stir

Cherry cobbler can eat cold or warm but good warm, homemade is way better. Find recipe on line. Leave food in pouches to warm up. Slide pouch in warming bag. Ones we had you just slit the outer pouch and add water and inner pouch cooks in the water once activates the stuff inside which gets very hot. Go microwave the pizza quick.

Ivan, I had a former student who was a personal assistant to a French clothing designer. This was about 2004. She was paid $140K a year but was always on call and had to drop everything If the woman said she was going to France tongight, she had to grab her stuff and go. Evelina would be left behind. Additionally, if the person did illegal stuff, you might be dragged into it because eiher you may have helped or seen what was going on.

Great video mate, I do enjoy these :) I love how most people who make these videos review them as though they are reviewing a restaurant. Everything in these packs are there to serve a nutritional purpose, not to provide a culinary experience. The difference with NATO rations as opposed to Russian rations is that NATO soldiers don't need a wheelbarrow, a dining table a four ring cooker a set of pots a kettle and a pointy chef's hat just to have a meal. We can eat quickly on the move and receive the correct amount of nutrition and energy to operate efficiently. Everything in that MRE pack is specifically designed to be there. The taste for a professional soldier is irrelevant.

MREs are sold on Amazon. It’s considered hiking or camping food for rainy days or survival food in case of disasters. You didn’t correctly follow the directions LOL, that’s why it tasted not so great.

My brother-in-law owned heart interest in an MRE Factory in San Antonio Texas back in the 80s he was rich when he was finished when he retired he sold out his percentage and retired comfortably

In the UK emergency tinned rations for nuclear attack are stored at main Post Offices. I've tried some. Delicious even after the use-by date.

Ivan oatmeal cookies are very easy and affordable to make and a common item on school lunch menus for kids. You can easily make them just make sure you use good quality oats they are lovely warm too. Also cherry cobbler is wonderful warm , out the oven with a dollop of whipped sweet cream I’m sure you can easily find the ingredients in Russia and just google the recipe !

A cherry cobbler is supposed to be like a cherry pie, except simpler to make. You put the cherry filling in a baking dish, and then put clumps of dough on top, and put it in the oven for a while.

Pretty much a salty TV dinner in box. When we went to Mexico Detroit Metro had no issues with the snacks I took and 8 juice drinks in foil pouch. Mexico of course no issue. It's just you cannot bring food to U.S. from any country. Maybe cross contamination deal. The MRE a person in family brought home you cut a slit in pouch and put water inside and it activates it and heats up hot and the inside pouch with food cooks inside outer pouch. It was vegetables and rice and dried meat in one's we had.

They sell MRE's in the United States. Commercial sales are OK as long as your not in the military and were issued the MRE and try to sell it. They sell MRE's to regular civilians and tourists at survival stores though. The company that makes them sells to the public.

Also you got ripped off. The MREs I used to get also always had some kind of candy in it. Either skittles or m&ms usually

There are a lot of different MRE's. The number on it, like 23 would be different from all the other numbers. Some of them are pretty good.

MREs are great for disaster conditions. I have them in case a hurricane decides to level the city again. I started eating them years ago after a storm hit and the military set up camp near my house.

Russian army foods seem to be much better, from the point of view of health and taste.

Preparing an MRE properly has a lot to do with whether it's a tasty or not and your skills were a little bit lacking LOL on making dinner there
