I’m so glad that you and bird are okay! Mei mei make sure you hire a lawyer for the accident. Insurance companies are a pain to deal with. I was in an accident and my car was also totaled. The liable parties insurance were such a pain to deal with so I hired a lawyer.

I’m glad you’re safe. I encourage anyone who’s gotten into such an accident to hire an attorney. They will negotiate with insurance as the insurance company’s job is to pay out as little as possible. If you have a case, you don’t pay the attorney until there is a settlement reached and they are paid from the settlement. Hope it all goes smoothly.

I was involved in an accident in February 2021. It was a horrible experience. My vehicle was totaled also. It was a front-end impact, and so all the airbags went off, and it was so loud, and the smell was awful. I had bruises from the airbags on my shins for 3 months, and I've had back pain since. I didn't have pain right after the accident, but the next day, I was in a lot of pain. The accident was not my fault, thankfully, but I hope to never experience that again.

Oh man, I'm so glad you're both okay! I was in an accident years ago and I didn't discover a dislocated rib until almost a month after the accident. Make sure to watch out for your health after a car accident!!! It's SO important to stretch and make sure you're really testing all your range of movement often after an accident to find any injuries!

I’ve never heard of Aer before this but I was sold the minute you said it glides over thresholds easily. My airport pet peeve is when you’re walking down the tunnel between the gate and the plane and your bag keeps tipping over because there’s like a dozen connecting pieces on the ground. The ability to lock the wheel and easily clip on/access hand sanitizer is definitely an added bonus.

Ok so there are these protein rice crispies in GNC, so I think that's what Bird is talking about. I've been waiting for my local con since January because I didn't know if i could go this time. And I have a fantasy fest the weekend before....14 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im glad the person took responsibility for the accident, and I'm really glad you and bird feel ok enough to go to a convention, but yea PTSD from an accident can be a thing, and I don't drive because I'm afraid of getting into accidents, but I feel bad whenever I need to go somewhere....

After an accident your adrenaline ramps up which can mask an injury. Several years ago, I was driving home after work in the right hand lane when a huge milk tanker truck in the middle lane took a right turn hitting my brand new Rav 4 and dragging me banging me repeatedly into it on my driver's side. When he turned into the milk factory just after the turn, I was honking and he stopped in the big driveway and said " Where did you come from?". We were sitting in the police car, it was freezing out, and all I kept saying was "My new truck" ! The officer doing the paperwork said wow it was a new vehicle, to which I told them that I hadn't even made a payment yet! I was able to drive it home, about 30 minutes, covered in glass since both door windows had been shattered, freezing my a** off. When I woke my husband up and told him, all he was worried about was me, much to my pleasure!

God was watching over you both, it is really good that you are alright. I am sorry about the car but it is truly a blessing that you are ok. My sister and I were in a car accident when i was in my early 20's, i ended up with a pinched nerve in my left shoulder and my sister ended up with a bruise across her chest.

Hey meimei I’m glad you guys are okay. I had an almost similar accident last year too and my car was also total loss. I’m not sure what insurance you have and it was my first ever car accident too. My first suggestion is definitely get yourselves checked out because that was my first mistake after 2 days my arm and neck were soo bad I went to a chiropractor for physical examination and after X-rays my neck was like 😅 and I was like 😮. Chiropractor was cheaper. I had medical on my car insurance but the other party took car of all costs including paying me for my total car loss. Also big tip is to be very on top of insurance. I was calling my side and the other insurance almost everyday making sure all things went smoothly. Also stay calm and cool the other insurance did an interview and recorded calls trying to see if anything I say can be used against me but I was calm and collected. It took 1 week of deliberations on both sides and found the other driver at fault 100%. And they paid me out. I had the other insurance pay for my car rental, car shortage fees when it was towed to a shop. I paid 0$ out of pocket. Definitely review your insurance coverage and ask about the other driver coverage so you know your options.

Thankfully you both are okay! Accidents are scary. I would get checked out medical wise even if you feel okay. My husband died in a semi truck accident almost 3 years ago. It happened 5 hours away, so I got a phone call about it. I thought it was a sick joke. I still have my days I break down.

This happened to me a few yrs ago some car hitting me from the total other side luckily just brazed across the front of my car so was able to fix it, but omg so traumatic for sure. Never found out why that car ended up on the opposite side of the road. Three lanes each way.

Always, always go to the ER when you've been in an accident. No matter what. Internal bleeding can be missed and people who dismiss their aches and pains to "sleep it off" often don't wake up. Same for falls. Falls, no matter how small, need follow-up care. Playing tetris after trauma (such as an accident) can help you process things as well, NAMI also has free mental health resources and support groups if you are in the US. Glad you're okay, please seek follow-up care, regardless of whether or not you feel "fine" or "well enough", trauma is a sneaky, sneaky bitch.

Meimei, I work with insurance companies all the time. If you have a minute, please read. Please look at your *certified* policy and declaration page from your insurance. PIP is for any chiropractic/massage you need for your injuries. Make a claim under their (3rd party, the person who hit you's) insurance for BI (bodily injury) if they hurt you at all, and your insurance for PIP (personal injury protection), and if the other person who hit you doesn't have insurance ask to make a claim under your own insurance as a UM claim (uninsured motorist). Also make sure you have Gap insurance, that will cover the cost difference between what you have left to pay on the car from the value it is at as of the accident, so if there's 20k left to pay off the car the gap insurance will cover that difference, if they say it won't cover the difference ask them for the documents that state that! If they refuse to give you the documents they're lying about the coverage and ask for a manager,,, some people who work for insurance don't even know how it works (in my own experience). I am wishing you the best! Get your car replaced and make sure you and Bird take care of yourselves!!!!
