They gotta do tht themselves cuz dulans be BULL💩’n ALOT lile he said they definitelyhit or miss… the owner had to give special treatment nd make sure cuz he know this dude was gon review
I really appreciate you going back and trying it. Like any business there can be good or bad days so that's fair to say it's hit or miss but thanks for giving them another chance as well as not comparing it to Mexican soul food. As Blacks we are the originators of so many things and we give it away for free all for everyone then to say we're not good at it after we graciously gave it away and taught it. It's just a slap in the face to the culture so thank you for taking the time to listen to your followers ♥️♥️
Appreciate your statements I live in San Diego and when I come to LA.i look for advice from people like this to decide where to get some good southern food .me being from Virginia originally and my grandmother being a unbelievable cook I know good soul food 😊
Been following your videos for a while now. The joy you exude🥰. Lost my mom 3months ago to breast cancer, and now am still struggling to pay off the debts we incurred for her medication . Can't wait to finally have a feel of ❤the joy i see each time i watch your vids🥰
My condolences, I Hope she went with as little to no pain as possible. It's the little things that may bring about the greatest of joys. I say from personal experience. You doing good, keep ya head up and stay strong
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ You have mexican food. You have jamaican food. You have salvadoran food. You have chinese food. You have peruvian food, etc. Then, you have Soul food. SOUL food ! 'Nuff said.
Haven't been to family soul food, but I use to go ti to Dulans alot, When I lived in Inglewood yrs ago! The smothered chicken, and pork chops, smothered or fried are delicious! The oxtails, and short ribs too much fat, but tasty! Greens corn/okra/ tomatos+ blacked peas, and yams all on point! Mac and cheese can be hit or miss! Cornbread muffins also good! During the holidays they turkey wings, and dressing tasted like Grandma's!
Thank you….i love Dulans, I come from the Antelope Valley for some Dulans…. I like the short ribs, dressing and gravy, candy yams, blackened peas, cabbage, Mack and cheese….fried chicken, baked chicken…smothered pork chops, and the oxtails. That’s it….😂🙏🏽
That location is definitely a hit or a miss and (in my experiences) the other 2 locations are a miss. It's like when Mr. Dulan died, so did the quality control. This is the only restaurant that has ever served me raw pieces of chicken that were also burnt... I didn't even know that was possible. 🤦🏽♀️
@@latrice3795 Me, too. It's sad because Mr. Dulan was a man of integrity. Years ago, I didn't realize that my order was wrong until I got home. When I called to inform them, Mr. Dulan answered the phone, apologized profusely, told me to come back and get a free replacement meal, and to top it off, he gave me his personal cell number in case he wasn't there when I came back and had any further problems. Sadly, that type of customer service is long gone.
You must realize Dulans soul Food is the son Greg. and his wife. They do have to work on the dressing. Adolph Dulan was the one that passed, who I worked with when they transitioned from burgers to soul food and became. Aunt Kuzzies back porch
I don’t remember them being there when I lived there….i remember m&m soul food it was fantastic the first time: when I went back I got sick. Gonna try it when I go back to LA
Dulan food is awesome. Whenever I go there I make sure to spend a good amount like $40 or so, and the food last me for 2/3 days. Plus I'm supporting my fellow black business.
@@tynodollaasign I'm in Washington State at least you are within 4hrs 😂😂. I'd even drive 6 hours to eat, get a hotel room and eat the next day again before driving back 😂😂😆😆
I don't support any business that take advantage of black people to build their business by criticizing another black business. Then the white guy have an old black man BUCKDANCING in every video! Way disrespectful and out of line for me.
Man are your people from Alabama? The way you grabbed that cornbread with them collards using your fingers reminded me of my dad’s side of the family. Much love
I first got introduced to soul food in the Army in the 1980's. The guy in charge of our mess section was black dude named "Gator" used to make the best fried chicken, corn bread, collard greens. and black eyes peas. Still love that meal today!
Me too, in Kitzingen Germany Harvey Barracks on MLK holiday they had a special meal on off hours, it was real soul food, fried chicken, ham hocks, pork chops , collard greens and black eyed peas, 1980-1982. I was 18 years old and Latvian born US citizen. The food was 🔥 fire, it was made in the Army mess hall by their NCOs. My first intro to soul food
And he went to the BEST location!!! No lie their food can feed 2-4 ppl on one plate!!! Or mad leftovers... This is a friend of mine family business, thank you for going ❤ they be bomb
There are 3 Dulans spots...Century, Manchester Inglewood, and Crenshaw...it would be very interesting to do a show visiting all 3 and choosing the best Dulans. Gregg Dulan on Crenshaw is my personal favorite...smothered chicken and oakra corn...fire. keep soaring latryguy...you're uplifting our daily food experience....blessings.
