This isnt really a hack, but more like taking advantage on HaiDiLao's generosity towards its customers, I really felt bad for HDL...

Seriously.. you worry about the boss not earning money? He is already the richest man in Singapore... Dethroned property tycoons... There is another way you can look at it... Because of their generosity and great customer service... Not willing to charge corkage for wine or liquor.... And not being nitpicking about simple hacks like this... They able to lure more folks over... Don't forget there are many competition outside like beauty in the pot but as they unable to match those traits I mentioned, ppl still flock to HDL nevertheless... This is also another sort of good marketing... You gave a little but you will gain many back... A board minded way of doing business...

Jason Tan 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻Well said! I’m not worried if HDL makes money or not, it’s the actions of certain diners/ RU-vid contributors whom are leaning towards personal gains that’s a bit worrisome. It’s not abt the rights of the paying customers and etc, but not paiseh meh if order 1 soup and the other 3 plain water, then go use the free condiments to make soup base and eat condiments to make yourself fuller? Somemore sharing it online to gain likes and give encouragements to others. I’m not criticising the 3 boys in the video, they are just testing out what other’s have done. Pls do check out “Extreme Cheapskates”, being thrifty vs being a selfish cheapskate is a thin line. Hope the nasty behaviour doesn’t becomes a norm for us. Really depressing lor..

wtf i love hdl especially the tomato soup :)... the mushroom sauce must eat, but remove oil. (my mom loves it smh) they let u takeaway the wheel thingy or popcorn thingy, whichever u ask for. Then rite, u can eat ice cream oso... is q worth it lol

Not significant saving at all, its all about ordering half portion and going w many friends and u will definitely save more, watching this video looks suffering, going to hdl should be enjoyable n u will be more suffering by seeing other tables indulging in good food while u suffer in silence..... not a good representation for saving money....

I think u might as well bring ur own food and drinks , and even sauce and mix urself. Just use their service and hotpot for free, still got free ice cream, fruits (if u say bday), and also the snacks while waiting and u will spend almost nothing there lol

LOL if you want to save money and go to all that trouble anyway, you can go to JB and eat hotpot there. About RM28 (SGD$9) per person for all you can eat haha
