Wow I love this technology. I look forward to getting starting using this. My Italian is moderate. I have a friend using for Spanish and she is hooked. Thanks for the overview.
OMG an italien who pronounces the basic word of the Italian language “amore” which means “love” with wrong emphasis saying “Amore” instead of “amOre” , thanks I’ve seen and heard enough.
You can ask the AI to role play a conversation using code-switching and let it mix a sentence with 50% English and 50% Italian. That way you can remember some of Italian words much quicker.
@@josh.mountain thanks, also for a complete beginner maybe asking the AI to use English sentences and just replace the adjectives or nouns to Italian can also help.
I just found your channel and as a modern languages (English and French) student I've enjoyed your YourTeacherAI (YTAI) videos. Any thoughts on how YourTeacherAI compares to Bing, Bard and Chatgpt for learning and practicing a language. The subscription for these AI are quite expensive in my country, so I'd like to know your opinion before I purchase anything (ofc I'll do some research on my own). Spanish is my first language so feel free to correct me If I made any mistakes in this comment... Anyway, thanks for sharing how the AI works and keep it up with your language learning journey.
Thanks! I would say since YourTeacher.AI is powered by the same thing as ChatGPT, except that YourTeacher.AI has a better interface, it is my personal pick. It isn’t for beginners however, and does require some knowledge of the language to have the best experience.
Been very happy with this for the Italian. Not so much for Danish but that’s because Danish is almost impossible to pronounce in general. Can’t wait for them to set up the Norwegian course, which is much easier to speak. I think the AI dude mispronounced “certo” by using a soft “c” like in English and Spanish (around the 11:30 mark), instead of the “ch” sound. The “puoi parlare” sentence: Try putting the stress on the penultimate syllable when pronouncing “parlare” - it should be “par LAHR eh” rather than “par lah RAY” - see if he understands you better that time. “Poi” is one of the many words for “then” in Italian so that’s why he’s trying to get you to pronounce the “PWOY” for “puoi”. Lastly try saying “PAIR favore” - I think many of us English speakers hear so much Spanish that we default to “POUR” instead of “PAIR” You roll your “R’s” way better than me.
How is it for learning Spanish, like more so as it is spoken in Mexico? I checked it out and noticed they had a Spanish option but had a flag from Spain, which is different in a lot of ways from how it is spoken in Mexico.
this seems useful to practise conversations, but not so much so to directly learn vocabulary. the ai mispronounced a number of words when listing them out to you
Hi Josh, I have YourTeacher AI but lately have been stuck. Your video has giving me a lot of examples to use. I hope you do more videos using more examples and different roleplaying scenarios. Thanks for a great video!
Don't understand why an Italian AI teacher has to speak English with such a thick "Italian" accent; but, on the bright side, his Italian is OK, though a little bit "theatrical" (that is, actor-like, over-enunciated).
That 'pronunciation' lesson was pretty bad. The AI is mixing some pretty good Italian with some horrible examples. Besides, it even changed the sentence in the middle of your practice! "delle persone" to "della persona".
